Hello there,

I have a following model which making me problem when I am out.

Charge is full, everything is up to date but when I open laptop its waking up and shutting down itself "TIME to TIME" not always.

reset button or holding power button is not solving the problem, only the way making it work is putting it to charge for 5 seconds after I can open and use it with the charge what percantage it has.

its shutting down itself not hibernating cause all programs are closing.

I am thinking that the problem may be can solve with the BIOS update but I have also problem to make it update OTHERWISE its battery issue.

I have just figure it out my BIOS is E13P2IMS.503 and released at 2021/09/13 (says in MSI Center) but I have seen there is another upgrade for bios in webpage which one have lately release date beside mine and I try to make and update as manually it says "wrong size of the file"

I have tried E13P2IMS.504 but it has no success, it says wrong size of file.

also I have tried E13P2IMS.110 and it doesnt say wrong size of file and it says uncompatible file

The problem could be related to the wrong installation process or a corrupted file. I download BIOS from MSI website. You should have the same file and size with me.
If not, you need to download again or check if the file is deleted by your anti-virus software.

The problem might be related to BIOS.
You can export the battery report to check full charge capacity.

Yes correct it keeps continue, looks like an hardware issue.
I have made quick test and battery

Based on your result. It mighe be not caued by the battery failed.
What did you do before having this issue? Which program did you run?
Do you have the issue after waking up from moden standby mode which means sleep mode?

To be honest I have did nothing, this is my work laptop thats why I am so sensitive about it.

I am having problem when its waking up. I open the lid, screen comes and suddenly laptop is shutting down (because when I start it all programs start from begining like restart)

after I am not able to open it until I put it on charge for 5 seconds, after 5 seconds everything goes normal and its keep working as normal

Can you record a video and upload? The content of the video also includes the program you operate before entering sleep mode and the way to enter it. The behavior is abnormal and it is not certain whether this behavior is related to Modern standby or battery or other hardware.

Hey there I am so sorry to hear you have the same problem.

No still same. Its not even Laptop, I always carry charger with me always.

Mr.Downey Rob asks for a video but its not happening proper cycle so there is no chance to make a video for this problem.

Its closing itself and cannot open until put it charge (to get a voltage to the mainboard in my experience) and after 5sec its opening from same percentage but as restarted.

Can you provide the Sleep study report and the date and time when the problem occurred?
We can look at the corresponding date and time in the report to see if any abnormal behavior or information was recorded at that time.

From the sleep study report, there is "Abnormal shutdown" at 10:32:43.
Is the timing of this event the same as what you observed?

Unfortunately, there is no information inside that mentions abnormal indicators or information that can be referenced.

I am wondering if we can see the detailed information from event viewer log.
You can refer to the tutorial to export it.

This video only teaches you how to export the application's history, but the system's history is also important. Both of them need to be exported because we don't know if the anomaly was caused by the system or the application.

Sorry, not entirety sure I understood you correctly, but thankyou for your reply! But from what i gathered, the original post hy Burake has my exact issue word for word, I've actually also updated the BIOS recently too. The biggest issue it that theres no method to reproduce the steps, and the events prior to these shut downs are so vastly different each time, that attempting to do so is impossible. Ill run the report again in an hour, but im also curious if this lack of data is resultant of the sudden shutdown? There was information in my last report prior to that event this afternoon; im wondering if Burake's shutdown issue relevant to the thread occured at the time you mentioned,, otherwise I can assume my laptop is simply not recording/recalling this information.

I've run the report again now, laptop shut down around 11:20 am on the 21st.
