Hi MSI team, Summit Flip owners

Just purchased one Summit E16 flip weeks ago, and I noted the bulit-in keyboard & touch pad not disabled after I flipped the display (i.e. in tablet).
Any idea what may went wrong, how to disable them when flipped in tablet mode?

It is suggested to confirm if tablet mode is on or not.
To get to them, open the Windows Settings in Windows 11 and go to System > Display.
Here you can find the option called Rotation lock.
When the tablet mode is on, the function should be adjustable.

Which model of laptop do you have?
Make sure there is no yellow bang under device manager and do not connect to the external device to recheck.

HI Downey

Not sure if Rotation lock linked to disabling the keyboard & touchpad, but on its own, this settings is rather troublesome, as it disable screen orientation auto change if I flap the display back to notebook position...

Basically, you can flip the screen 360-degree, and the laptop will be switched to tablet mode automatically.
Rotation lock is related to tablet mode. Under laptop mode, Rotation lock will be greyed out and disable automatically.

the problem is that when I flip the screen 360 degrees the pc doesn't switch to tablet mode.
The rotation lock does not activate and cannot be activated manually.
I don't know how to activate tablet mode manually.

Hi.
I'm having the same issue. I bought this thing to replace an old broken surface yet if I can't use it as a tablet it will have turned out to be a waste of money.

I have the summit e16 flip a13vft with win 11 pro. If that helps.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I'm having the same issue. Keyboard does not turn off and tablet mode does not engage when rotating the screen. Rotation lock disabled. I agree with @Allenviljoe159b02df - if tablet mode won't turn on then it defeats the purpose of buying this computer.

I had to do a factory reset. I thought the screen angle sensor might be broken but it turns out I had just deleted what I thought was bloatware (IE anything preinstalled on the computer with "MSI" in the name) including the MSI center app and the relevant SDKs. I'd recommend making sure you have all the software the system ships with or try a factory setting reset.

It's dumb that it needs MSI center in order to enter tablet mode, but whatever. I'll live with it. MSI seriously needs to figure out its software team though. Everything is so janky.

Thanks for the response! I was seriously considering doing a factory reset when it suddenly seemed to start working. I think that what happened was that it wasn't switching into tablet mode because I wasn't triggering it properly or I was doing things like attaching to an external monitor, which was disabling tablet mode. It still seems to not always pick up on needing tablet mode, but if I just fold it such that it should be out of tablet mode then re-fold the keyboard underneath, it picks it up :)

Thanks for your reply; I think that I'm past my issue. This was my response to @Allenviljoe159b02df :
