Is there support for the GTX970M?

The GS40 Phantom is named, but not the 970, but it's build in that device.

EDIT Svet: Nope, 9xxM are not supported for vbios modifications

The GS40 Phantom is named
This is related to the EC modification only

Hey Svet!
I've been reading about your great bios updates and sent you a donation.
But I was maybe too fast doing it. I have a MSI GS70 2QE-240NE with a 4720HQ and a 970M 3GB.
Is this setup not supported? Please send me a PM asap. :)*
Best regards from Sweden!

EDIT Svet
The notebook model is supported but only for EC modification [CPU/GPU FAN/Temp,hysteresis tweaks]
For vbios modification 970M is not supported
Check PM how do you wish to proceed further

hi svet!
after i oc my 970m i notice an issue that gpu power go up to 100 watts and the cpu power go down to 10watts and the cpu speed also go down to 800-1500mhz which is so bad
so i wonder if ur software is able to unlock th power limit i think 160w is enough for 970m+6700hq to perform well
and once i donate i will recieve both vbios tuner and ec turner, is that right?
my laptop is gs60 6qe u had mention this in ur post i think it will work

EDIT Svet:
The tool can't adjust total power by EC, only thermal behavior

Check PM

Hello Svet ,
Does this VBIOS applies to my msi GL72 6QF laptops ? Fans are quite noisy for me ... My bios and firmware are fully updated and i just installed my new ram HyperX impact 16 GB 2133mhz. My ram must overclock itself but it runs a liitle bit slower, like 2128 mhz, So each module runs at 1064,4 mhz or close. What are the best vbios settings for my laptop ? Could you guys help me out to get the max out of my machine for gaming? I'd really appreciate that ! If anny other modifications must be done, i'd be happy to here them from experts in tuning your rig. In my actual bios i can't even touch my ram clock speeds etc ... its very limited.
My laptop specs are : http://www.materiel.net/ordinateur-portable/msi-gl72-6qf-856fr-136035.html

My S/N is :

Thank you !

Hello Svet

I have a MSI GT600NE with faulty Nvidia GTX680M board and have had to remove the Nvidia board to get the notebook to boot. The notebook works fine with onboard Intel HD4000, but the notebook fan is running at full speed once Windows has booted up. For the price of a new GTX680M I might as well invest in a new desktop PC, so I do not want to replace the Nvidia board.

Can your program help me to control the fan speed to a more quiet value?

EDIT Svet:
Nope, for this particular case the tool can't help because the FAN is running in a panic mode when dGPU is damaged or removed from the system and curves are ignored.

Alternative solution can be applied with a different modification,
however this is not related to the topic,
if you have interest to it check PM for further details and info.

Thanks to Svet I now have a really quiet notebook again - almost too quiet, heh.

Money well spent. :D

EDIT Svet:
Well done as well :pompom:

Hello Svet, i have recieved your tool but i'm in a quite similar situation on a GT60-2OD with 780m (faulty GPU - died with time) so i would like to exchange with you about some of those alternatives you are talking about.!

EDIT Svet:  Check PM FYI and queries.

Hi Svet!

First of all, I am sorry for the long post. My laptop is a MSI GS60 6QE Ghost Pro (nVIDIA GTX 970M). I am very interested in using your EC Fan Tuner in order to solve a CPU fan problem: turning off-on at high speed cycle between specific temperature and RPM ranges (further detailed in this link). I managed to solve this issue by editing the first CPU fan speed (%) step value from 48 to 55 (between 3287-3310-3330 RPM), thanks to ?Fan Control Tools by Pherein? and  ti20n?s GS60 fan profile/guide for this tool (Note: latest EC Firmware version 16H7EMS1.107 did not solve the problem). The CPU fan works well and ventilate properly during high demand, so it seems to be an EC bug which some users have been randomly suffering for years in different laptop models (unacceptable, shame on MSI?).

However, this fix is not permanent and it reverts to EC Firmware default settings (causing again the CPU fan off-on erratic cycle) as soon as you unplug for using the battery, when you change among energy system modes (Green, Comfort, Sport), and when nVIDIA Optimus switches between iGPU and dGPU (blue and orange light switch).

Hence, I would be very grateful if you could confirm whether I could permanently modify, through your EC Fan Tuner tool, the first CPU fan speed (%) step value from 48 to 55 within the installed EC Firmware. My only wish is to have a stable CPU fan behaviour and forget about this nightmare forever. If so, please:

1) How can I make a donation for your help?
2) Could you further explain the EC Flashing process, specifically for MSI GS60 6QE (16H7EMS1.107 version to be edited, preferably)? I guess it will require Windows instructions, but ?autoflash.exe? or ?winflash.exe?? I am sorry for the insistence, but I do not want to end up with a bricked system.
3) In which CPU fan tables do I have to modify the first step mentioned above from 48 to 55? You mentioned that there are a total of 9 FAN tables with 2 general types. I do not have any interest in editing GPU Bios/GPU Fan settings, only CPU fan values.
4) In the future, I might be interested in using your EC Fan Tuner to set a quieter CPU fan profile. Would it be possible to adjust the CPU fan speed to its minimum? If so, what are the minimum values for MSI GS60 6QE: 44% fan speed and 2800 RPM?

Thank you very much in advance! Cheers

EDIT Svet: Check PM

Hi Svet,

I would donate for your program, but can you tell me it'll work on my laptop first?
I have a MSI GL62 6QF with a gtx 960m.
I want to lower the fan speed, because it makes a lot of noise, obviously :) .
I've already tried the MSI fancontrol program, but i can choose from completely silent, to noisy; there is no in between.

I've seen my computer name in the support list, but i have had issues with other programs before :)

Thanks in advance!.

EDIT Svet: Yes its supported. The lowest RPM % that can be set depends of the hardware.
Check PM for details.

Hi Svet,

I also have the GL62 GQF with the i5 not i7

Will I be able to lower the fan speeds since they are constantly running?

Thanks in advance!

All CPU are supported
about lowering FAN speed how much you can lower them depends of the hardware specs of the FANs used on the notebook.
Else you can turn them off or to use other tool's technique to make it quite, check PM for details.

Hello Svet,
I have MSI PE60 2QE and that thing with loud CPU fan kills me. Can I lower the speed with your tool? Now it's just about 3000 and 0... I suppose it would be great to lower it at least to 1000 or 1500. And can I use anything else to donate? Because I don't have paypal.
Thank you!

EDIT Svet: Nope, those FAN's can't operate at such low voltages like you mention 1000 or 1500,
its a hardware limitation.
GT series instead can run at such low RPM.

Hello - from what ive been reading - I qualify - long past due a visit here - I have a Dominator GT60 2QD  (3K)  with GTX 970m
i want to unlock everything, vbios and fan control (its so damn loud!!!)

wheres the latest download link? cant seem to find it. do I get a PM?

appreciate the hard work people do to make hardware amazing again.

EDIT Svet: The tool is available on fixed donation details are in the 1st post.
However for this notebook it can helps with EC firmware modify FAN/Temp curve adjustments for CPU/GPU.

It can't help with system BIOS modding or vBIOS modding[for the listed class]
Check PM FYI and queries about those.
