I can say that Svet has been nothing short of his reputation here.  I expected to hear crickets for the next weeks and I was pleasantly surprised with his response.  He has submitted the elf zip program to MS and I am on the happy path to getting this resolved.

Apologies if I raised red flags, but when I see virus warnings you get that sick feeling in your gut.

EDIT Svet:
Microsoft fixed quickly the issue :pompom::

Hello! I would like to donate, however I also have unusual vga bios solution which makes me doubtful in terms of editing gpu vcore (which is what I intend to do). My laptop is cheap Medion P6812 with geforce gt555m dedicated gpu with 1GB of vram from Wistron. Here is a screenshot made in GPU-Z: GPU-Z screenshot
As GPU-Z bios dump function and nvidia's nvflash utility would not work in my case (vga bios and uefi are in one chip), I had to use regedit.exe to save the VGA bios into a 128kB rom file which worked fine. This is why I also used to extract all uefi files using UEFI Extract NE A55 win32 tool (downloadable from github) from my laptop's UEFI image file (saved with Aptio 4 AMI Firmware Update Utility) in order to find a file with NVIDIA BIOS using a file manager's search text option. I have succeded finding it - it is 844kB big body.bin file located deeply in the files/folders tree containing exatly what's inside the 128kB rom file that I saved using regedit.
At this point I would like to ask You, Svet, for help. I'm kind of sure it is first situation like this (with vga bios integrated into uefi). Is it possible to add support to Your Fermi/Kepler VBIOS/EC-FW Tuner for my GPU (I will send all the necessary files You request of course)? Apps like Nibitor 6.06 or Fermi Bios editor say I have unsupported device, so the only solution for me would be your app. Sorry for my bad english. Cheers.
Nvidia Inspector screenshot

Kind regards

Ok, I got familiar with MMTool APTIO so I can easily extract vbios to a file anytime I need it, mod it with Svet's tool (as soon as I'll get it) and then replace properly original data inside the uefi image file with the modded data. Then, using AFUWin I am easily (safety) able to flash it to EEPROM. Nice.

Link to my gt555's vgabios.bin extracted with MMTool APTIO:

vgabios.bin

(sorry for double post)

Svet, is there anything You could do with this? Thing I do care most about is ofcourse overvolting the GPU.

Now, with 0.850 Volts (as shown on Nvidia inspector screenshot from my above post) applying the overclocking thing on the GPU leads to performance decrease, epecially in CSGO or NFS Shift2. FurMark and unigine heaven report fps increase, though.

Version has been updated  [3.18l==>3.19m]:

Changes:
* Updated MSI EC-FW Editor:
Added support for:
- GE72MVR 7RG
* Fixed minor resource dispose issue

Fantastic program, lowered idle fan speeds on the CPU to 33,
no more wavering fan,
increased GPU idle fan to 20 from 0, just to keep temps down a little better, at no real noise cost at all
:pompom:

the vbios updates has no connection with the tool.
[10 series are also not supported by the tool for vbios modifications]

if you want to check for updates, then refer to this topic for required info:

Hi, Svet! I ran into a problem. which you already solved. I won't be in debt for help. Bought a 980m graphics card for my alienware m17x r4. But the frequencies drop from 1100 to 400. I've seen people complain. They turned to you and you remade vbios and everything was fine with them! Please help me :(

Hi Svet! From years i'm fighting with the famous fan problem on my GE62 6qf apache pro, with the cooler boost button on i have a shut down of the gpu fan every 10 seconds (actually it does not happen from a long period but i'm not sure it's fixed, because i'm just not playing anymore with the laptop). So i red that my laptop is actually compatible with your tool! Happy to hear it. I'm currently using the SCM with "Silent Option" tool for control the fan speed, but this causes a problem when the temperature of CPU or GPU goes up more than a certain value, for example more than 80-85C, when it happens, the fan goes down from 6700rpm to 5000rpm, i red that this is a limitation of silent option that can't operate when the temperatures becomes to high, therefore is completely unuseful. My question is the following.. Can i replace my silent option tool with yours being sure that the rpm will remain the same that i set also with high temperatures, and will i able to modify easily the rpm values for gaming or just the browser (with a reduction of noise and stored dust)?

Hi Svet,

I donated and received the tool (thanks) in order to try to fix a flash that I did on my gs43vr 6re GPU. I flashed it with an unrecognized flash and now it cant be detected as a normal gpu.

Can you or anyone please give me the original flash for my gpu?

Much appreciated,
valentin

Hello Svet,

this may not concern your tool directly. I was brought here by collegues of the german MSI forum to get your support.
I want to upgrade my Medion Erazer x6821 (MS 16F3) with a new GPU

My System:
Medion X6821 MD 98113 (similar to MSI GT60) / Intel HM77 (Panther Point)
Intel Core i7-3610QM / Ivy Bridge GT2 / Intel HD Graphics 4000
Nvidia GTX 670M 1.5 GB
BIOS: E16F3IM7.106
EC: 16F3EM71 Ver4.04

So far I know I should try to get a green GPU from MSI since Medion seems not to be too compatible to GPUs from other manufacturers like alienware etc.. Clevo might work as well witha vBIOS flash.
After all the research I tend to choose the GTX 970M, but I am not sure if I can get one without G-Sync. Also it appears that I would need a modified vBIOS even if it is a MSI card, where you might be able to help. If G-Sync is a no go I would rather choose the 780M with the same TDP of 100W but without G-Sync.

Do you have experience with GPU upgrades on Medion laptops? Can you give advice which BIOS, vBIOS, modified driver I would need for my system and those GPUs?
My current plan was to flash E16F3IMS.51X BIOS and maybe EC 16F3EMS1.T18, but I am not so sure if this is needed or even compatible.

I am also not sure if I can flash directly from the Medion BIOS E16F3IM7.106 to .51X or if I need to flash an old GT60 BIOS first. I am also aware that some USB ports might not work after flashing a MSI BIOS on my Medion System.

regards
vorced

Hello SVET!
I am new here as you can see, I bought a used MSI GS60 GHOST PRO (exactly this: https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GS60-Ghost-Pro-6th-Gen-GTX-970M/Specification), I have already cleaned the fans and reapplied the thermal paste, the temperatures have dropped a lot but despite this the fans are loudly noisy in idle.
I would like to change the parameters of the fans:
- for the CPU, set the min RPM to the minimum possible (44% shoul be fine according to the hardware limit of GS series).
- for the GPU in particular I would like to set min at 25% and IF POSSIBLE set the fan to start immediately without waiting for the temperature to reach 55 ?, what do you think you can do?
I understand, however, that the vbios of 970m is not supported by your software, correct?
I'd like to ask you a big favor, since I'm afraid to make some mistakes (I'm more practical than hardware than software) could you modify my EC firmware?

The latest EC firmware available for my notebook is this : https://download.msi.com/archive/frm_exe/nb/16H7EMS1.107.zip

Many thanks in advance and thanks for your patience!!!
