I have an MSI B350M Mortar mobo with the latest 7A37v1O3 bios installed. I noticed that I am unable to control the RPM of my two fans connected to SYS_FAN3 header via DC splitter.
I was able to do so just fine before the bios update. The RPM is stuck at around 1400 and doesnt change value when tuned either vias oftware (Command Center) or via BIOS settings.
Atached are two screenshots from Command Center fo the fans with same RPM at both 50 and 100% manual tuning. (I did hit Apply even if its not sceen in the screenshot..)

Try a Clear CMOS (bridging two pins with a screwdriver while the PC is off, see manual). Then first check in the BIOS if control is possible, verify in Windows afterwards.

Is a settings reset from BIOS enough or should I do it physically with the pins? I ask because I already did reset the settings a couple times after the BIOS update to OC the RAM and the issue is still there.

Physically reset it with a Clear CMOS. Loading optimized defaults isn't the same.

What's the fan model? Can you try the fan splitter on another header?

But yeah, when it was possible with the older BIOS, and a Clear CMOS doesn't help with the new BIOS, then it looks like a bug in the beta BIOS. You should create a ticket with MSI.

They're a default fan that came with Genesys IRID 503 and the other from a Corsair case from like 2016/2017 my friend had. But yeah it used to work fine before the update. I guess ill create a ticket. Thank you for the help!

you using new generation CPU? don't really see benefit upgrading BIOS if you still have the old one.

Yes, I updated due to getting a 5600.

Support suggests removing the battery and then try with another fan. Not sure if removing the battery will help after the cmos clear but ill give it a try later I guess.

MSI able to duplicate the issue and they are working on it.
Please be patient, the newest upcoming BIOS would fix this issue.
Thanks
