Hi All,

new to the gaming laptop world and noticed my temperatures were getting high, so i downloaded HWinfo and it reports my CPU PL1 as 85.75W and PL2 as 200.00W. I opened throttlestop and this is reporting my PL1 and PL2 both as 200.00W.
Can anyone explain what this is or means, please? Should i be concerned it goes so high?

What laptop are you using?
What scenario did you do when you log this result?
Is there any performance issue?

Hi, it’s a GE66 Raider with the 10th gen i7. These were just the stated values in HWinfo under the CPU info (85.75 & 200). I looked in the bios and it said the the 2 x 200 and same as Throttlestop.

I’ve not changed anything as want to understand before I do. Not sure if MSI have just set it as 200.
no performance issues, but AAA game runs between 80-90C which is why I looked at the info incase there’s something I can do.

The PL1 and PL2 depend on the shift mode in the Dragon Center.
Your laptop temperature looks normal.
It’s easy to reach the 90 degrees above when CPU and GPU under loading.

EC FW controls our PL1 PL 2 vs cpu / gpu loads
200- means UNLOCKED ,,sometimes HK CPU --ec last limit
