That's it. Too bad I still don't have the processor with me to thoroughly test the board. Will update you guys on this.

I posted that I thought P55 was a single chip, and I was looking at that last shot thinking "I definitely see 2 heatsinks there..." but then I realized that is a pic of something else entirely and edited my post.  :photo:

Here is another update.Tested out OC Genie feature to auto overclock my intel i5 750 2.67ghz to 3.1ghz :)

So here is the ES i5 750 shot & the test system used (4890 cyclone SOC 1ghz baby!!!!)

Once you turned on your system, double check if the OC Genie feature in the bios is enabled. Just go to the Cell Menu

Here is the post up screen when OC Genie is not yet enabled & a shot of unpressed OC Genie buttion.

Turn off your system and just press the OC Genie button and wait for the magic to begin hahahaha!!! System will actually turn off & on and once the system got the stable OC configuration it would just boot up. Have patience my friends. See the shot below blue light emits from the button once you pressed it down ?
OCGenieEnabled.jpg

Post screen would also change to OC Genie Enabled!!!

So here is the initial OC of my i5 750. I just used some cheap Kingston DDR3 1GB 1066 mems for the test. If you have a much better and high clock mems OC Genie might give you a whooping 3.8ghz clock  No joke!!!

Will update you guys again  :lol_anim:

Hi all,

I'm seriously considering buying this motherboard for the new HTPC that I'm building up at moment (though not being the most powerful I think is more than enough for such a system), but there are a couple of important things that are still not clear to me.

First is about the inclusion of the Winki operating system (for which there is hardly information on the web). Though in this forum is clearly stated that it is included in the P55-GD65 motherboard, there's is not a single bit of information about it in the webpage of the motherboard nor in the manual. This confuses me, so could anybody clarify this point to me? Having this kind of fast boot up operating system (MSI Winki or ASUS Gate Express) in the motherboard is very important to me. Has anybody any information about it?

The second question is about the compatibility of this motherboard with the NH-U9B cooler from Noctua, which I already have and would like to reuse. I know that I will need an adaptor for the socket 1156 (Noctua sends it for free!!!), but still is not clear if it will fit in the space provided in the board for the CPU cooler. Has anybody any experience or opinion about it?

Thank you all in advance.

How are the temps of the CPU and the Southbridge and what CPU cooler is that your using?

When you use OC Genie, is the turbo modus still active or is it disabled automaticly?

And how to test the overclock, with rebooting the PC and with OCCT?

Oh and where the hell did you get a MSI 4890 Cyclone SOC because I can't find it anywhere? :bonk:

? The CPU's temp is nice. All cores are running at 40s with OC Genie Enabled. Im using AVC Global Star for the cooler

?What turbo modus? or you meant turbo boost? if yes. It is disabled once you are using OC Genie

?For test you can use OCCT but I didn't have the time. I just used the CPU tests of Vantage & 3dMark06

?I got the MSI 4890 Cyclone SOC from a friend abroad in Taiwan  :agrees:

* Nice temps. Never heared of that cooler, does it fit out of the box on the socket 1156?

* Yeah, the Turbo Mode or turbo boost but it's disabled when using OC Genie.

* Ok, i have Vantage but will use OCCT as well.

* Well, I'm happy with my Sapphire Toxic 4890 1GB although it was a bit more expensive than the MSI 4890 Cyclone SOC.
