For the last month my I7 build has exceeded my expectations. All is well with exception to one niggling issue. After the system has been shut down for the night and is completely cold, when I turn it on the next day there is a 2 to 3 second delay. I don't mean the double boot. I mean I press the case's power on switch and nothing happens for 2 to 3 seconds. After those 2 to 3 seconds the system boots and is fine for the rest of the day. Even if I shut the system off during the day and then power it on later all is well. This delay phenomenon is only when the system is cold and the surge suppressor has been switched off for several hours. It does not seem to be related to the case's power switch. I've measured that with an ohm meter. Any one have any ideas?

I am not convinced that this behaviour is specific for Core i7 Systems.  My P45 Platinum does the same when it was completely disconnected from A/C Power for a longer period of time.  My best bet is that the solid caps used on these boards have a slightly increased charge time which results in a small delay when the system is turned on after being completely cut off from the power source for some time.

Interesting . . ... as well as makes sense. Further interesting that the system did not do this from brand new through one month. It took burning in for a month for it to start happening.
