Since updating to Nvidia Drivers, uninstalling then re-installing MSI drivers, the MSI CLOCK tab in DISPLAY PROPERTIES causes a RUN DLL fatal closing the PROPERTIES dialog box. There was only one time, ( I had just set the system from scratch) that I could access the MSI CLOCK 'overclock' function. Now I cannot.

Has anyone encountered and conquered a similar problem ?

Suggestions ?

I've re-installed WinXP, etc.,,,

I never could access that tab or the MSI information tab. Nor can I update my bios.

I get no response from tech support.
Sorry I can't help

There was a old thread about this issue, you should read it.

Short anwser, we are lot that can't use MSI-CLOCK, we all have ASUS mobo. No fix, but install win98xx. I didn't try that because I not goging to use outdated OS with my new computer.

I'm still looking for fix, I want to o/c my card. I can use other software, but I want to use MSI-CLOCK.

MSI sucks, return it if you can. I'm stuck with mine.

Okay. Thanks for the confirmation. I don't like being 'had' either. There were good reviews about MSI in Sharkey Extreme and I think Tom's Hardware. Maybe it was only one of them.

It is terrible learning the lesson after the exam.

You are right about MSI support.
Finding appropriate drivers is a grab bag experience as well.

It will be the last MSI product I purchase. It was only based on the online review. Next time I will go with a better known Graphics card vendor.
I have no experience with Asus cards, anyone else ?

Well. Back to the drawing board. The gauntlet has been tossed before me. There must be a way to overcome this. Onward and upward.

I did own Asus GTS2 deluxe for almoust 2 year. No problem everthink works period.

Only complain is that ASUS was little late with drivers, but they always work when they came.

I'm using Asus Digital VCR now with my MSI G4 4400, wonder why ?. Wincoder with my version can not display TV in full screen. Review that I saw included wincoder that can to full screen.

I also thougt hardware monitoring was included, I was wrong again. Why is hardware monitoring with chep card like G4 mx 440 and 460 and not with G4TI ?????

If you are looking to overclock, you could use the nVidia Reference Drivers and Coolbits for controlling Core and RAM speeds.

Take Care,

Richard

Richard,

Before I run off doing a web search for "coolbits", do you have an easily accessible link ? I'll look while waiting..

Thanks for the heads up on that.

Chuck,

You can do it manually if you like:

To gain access to core and memory overclocking utilities, run (regedit) and perform the following steps:
1. Open the key, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareNVIDIA CorporationGlobal] by navigating down to it in the left hand pane.
2. Add a new key named "NVTweak".
3. Go under this new key and add a new DWORD value with the name "CoolBits".
4. Double click on CoolBits in the right hand pane and set the value to 3 with a hexadecimal base.
5. Reboot.
