How to re-install MSI Center?

d. Make sure both MSI Center SDK & MSI Center is removed
e. Re-install MSI Center from scratch again
  • How to install Dragon Center/Creator Center if I have already installed MSI Center?
    Why do you want to do that? But if you insist on making the “wrong decision”,
    • 1. Follow the steps above to uninstall MSI Center and MSI Center SDK.
    • 2. Search for MSI Dragon Center/MSI Creator Center in Microsoft Store to install Dragon Center/Creator Center.
    • 3. Waiting for the installation to complete.
  • Why does Dragon Center ask to uninstall MSI Center SDK before installing?
    1620215129484.png
  • This is what you get for not liking MSI Center, but you can fix it by opening command prompt and type “reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MSI” and enter “yes” after.
    Note.
    Make sure no MSI Center registry key left in the specific path

Pardon me but how do I update the fimware? I'm already on the latest MSI center version and the Live update doesn't show anything available to install.

And on the cooler website there are nothing other than MSI center to install.

Edit : Found the firmware ready to install in MSI center after refreshing multiple times.

Hey. For direct MSI support, see >>How to contact MSI.<<
Also it’s unlikely this is causing the issues. Can you open a new thread with full system spec?

Hey guys, hope you are doing well today.
I have to set up my MSI Center after each update.
All leds, app theme etc. Is there a way to fix this annoying issue?

Hello

The latest software update (version 2.0.9.0 of MSI CENTER reveals a mistake,
When choosing the red color you need to select the RGB settings:

R=0
G=255
B=255

If R=255 G=0, B=0 is selected as normally would, the lights light up Bleu

Hi,

I'm not sure if I should create a separate thread for this, but MSI Center has stopped working for me after an update. I had it installed via the Microsoft Store, but having uninstalled it and reinstalled version 2.0.9.0 it gets stuck on "Please wait patiently for loading modules". I tried leaving the PC on all last night, but this is as far as it gets.

I've tried uninstalling using the uninstall tool and reinstalling a couple of times and I am running MSI Center as an administrator, but it's just not having it. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the older version on the Microsoft Store, but that one gets stuck in the same place.

The PC I'm using has an MSI B550 Gaming Edge WiFi in it. My other half's PC has a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II in it and MSI Center updated fine and is working perfectly on that PC.

Any ideas?

@justin_r_bake15bf02ed I am having the same frustrating issue.

Running Windows 11 x64.

Tried uninstalling/reinstalling several times. Via download from MSI and from MS Store. Same behavior with both.

my motherboard is: Z590 PRO WIFI
My issues were solved with the release of 2.0.10.0 - uninstalled 2.0.9.0 and deleted the residual fodlers .. fresh install from MS Store

Just built a pc using z570s tomahawk but when launching anything in msi center it just infinite loads untill msi center crashes, win 11 using msi center 2.0.10.0, found some info that i could firmware update the argb but cant find the firmware tool anywhere on msi.com as it says in guide, so please fire xxxxxx u transfered from msi dragon center to msi center dev team, dragon center was always buggy xx and we dont need msi center to get the same reputation just make ur mandatory [***CENSORED***] software work or let us have 3rd party apps control [***CENSORED***] for us out of the box

Edit: removing everything from i got from MSI website for my MB and everything msi center from website told me it needed to run "overwolf with msi companion that just gave a popup that it was out of date and there was another version to be found outside of overwolf" at first i reinstalled MSI center multiple times thinking overwolf wouldnt interfere as it need msi center sdk to work. What got it working was to use the MSI Center removal tool and then unistalled overwolf from my system then go on ms store and get the updated MSI Companion then restart once booted again launch ms store once again to install msi center then reboot again to make it work.

Unfortunately I'm still having the same problem - stuck at "Please wait patiently for loading modules". Strangely, if I exit out and try to run it again I get a pop-up asking me if I want to install Norton, which suggests to me it's getting further the second time, but it never gets past "Please wait patiently for loading modules" even if I leave it patiently waiting overnight.

Can I ask which residual folders you deleted? I've found MSI folders in the root directory of my boot SSD, in Program Files (x86) and in the hidden ProgramData folder and deleted all of them, but are there any others? Also, when you installed from the MS Store, what did you do exactly? Did you run MSI Center as an administrator the first time?

Thanks, and I'm glad you got yours working, it gives me some hope that this can be fixed!

Just a random thought. If you're running anti-virus softwire. How about disable/shut-it-down while you install?

I follwed these directions @justin_r_bake15bf02ed

Step1. Please uninstall original MSI Center on app list.
Step2. Please remove MSI Center SDK in programs and features in control panel.
Step3. Restart once.
Step4. Delete the folder C\\MSI and C\\Program Files(x86)\ MSI.
Step5. Restart once.
Step6. Please install latest MSI Center

I installed MSI Center from the windows app store .. a big departure for me. Typically I'd download and install from MSI.

Hey, since version 2.0.6.0 MSI Center doesn't show me the CPU frequency in the "hardware monitoring" section. I have 0MHz all the time. The speed of the graphics card (MSI RTX3060Ti) is displayed correctly. Version 2.0.8.0/2.0.9.0/2.0.10.0 continues to do the same - did a clean install after uninstalling version 2.0.6.0.
Of course, I contacted MSI tech support, but they said that the fault lies with my system because with them everything works OK. Other programs (like MSI Afterburner) show the current CPU speed - MSI Center does not.
AMD 5600X processor and MoBo MSI x570 Gaming Plus.
Any of you noticed take behavior of the application?

The issue was duplicated and will be fixed in upcoming MSI Center 2.0.11.0
Check for updates and have a try it when the MSI Center 2.0.11.0 is released.

Hi everyone! Today I noticed that there's no Monitor tab in my MSI Center 2.0.10.0. Have tried uninstall/re-install the software multiple times i.e. done almost everything - no joy! My Windows 11 Pro version is up-to-date. What can be wrong?
