e. Re-install MSI Center from scratch again
  • How to install Dragon Center/Creator Center if I have already installed MSI Center?
Why do you want to do that? But if you insist on making the “wrong decision”,
    • 1. Follow the steps above to uninstall MSI Center and MSI Center SDK.
    • 2. Search for MSI Dragon Center/MSI Creator Center in Microsoft Store to install Dragon Center/Creator Center.
    • 3. Waiting for the installation to complete.
  • Why does Dragon Center ask to uninstall MSI Center SDK before installing?

  • This is what you get for not liking MSI Center, but you can fix it by opening command prompt and type “reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MSI” and enter “yes” after.
    Note.
Make sure no MSI Center registry key left in the specific path

Hi,
I'm having the same issue with my new motherboard. It's the MPG Z490 Gaming Cabron Wifi and ever since I tried using Mystic Light and iCue4, the RGB lights are off.
I did as Pangolin said, but to no avail. I'm getting a "Connect to device FAIL" error when I try to update the firmware.

I've tried using MSI DC and MSI Center but both are giving me issues. I'm attaching the log the updating tool generated.

The motherboard RGB does work though. I'm using some products connected to an ARGB hub and once my PC was built everything was on sync using the default MB config until I accessed MSI Center in order to set up my own configuration. I even reinstalled Windows but now I cannot enter MSI Center. (Edit: One of the comments covered this issue, I had MSI DC installed and the registry key wasn't cleared on uninstallation).

I saw that on the graphic cards, it doesn't work with the GTX 10** series, is it? So it won't work with my MSI GTX 1060 6GB? (I'm planning on upgrading to a RTX 3060 TI in fact, but I have to wait for graphic cards to come back to more acceptable prices.

Known Issue: RGB No Longer Work (Lose control & Flash randomly) after Installing ICUE v4.11.274 + Windows Language Changes to French Restart/Sign out
Workaround:
1. Disable on-board physical LED switch (on-board LED will turn off)
View attachment 149173
2. Short JT1 pin (2 pin from the right) with a pen for 5 seconds
View attachment 149174
3. Download firmware below and flash the firmware again
View attachment 149175
4. Enable on-board physical LED switch again
Solution: Update firmware to the version below and you can install iCUE again!
Note. If your LED is out of control, do steps above first then update firmware

Hi, I'm using bios version 7C73v18 on the Z490 gaming carbon wifi mobo. Will this software still work? I don't want to brick anything or fry any of my components...

Followed the steps and it seemingly resolved the flashing issue. Yesterday however, I had the Mystic Light set to Red and after ten minutes or so, it reset back to Rainbow. Had to turn off in MSI Center for it to respond to my inputs again. Any solutions to this or should I try to re-update the firmware again?

and the listed firmware is the RGB control IC not your BIOS. It should be fine to update it.
I'm gonna try and reset the CMOS. If that doesn't work I'll just go through with an RMA and then buy a 590 mobo. Debating whether or not to continue with MSI or go with ROG strix. MSI's dragon center and MSI center is a complete total disaster. I mean, don't get me wrong, their hardware is god tier but when it comes to software, not so much.

How can I short the JT1 with pen I don’t get it should I touch the 2 pin with pen or what ??! And the second thing updating the firmware same as updating the bios Sam way enter the bios page ??!
thanx in Advance

just touch 2 pin with metal, pen will work, when you touch it, you should see LED turn off for a second.
To update firmware, just execute the file in Windows with admin privilege.

Hello, I have updated FW 02 to 07 in MSI Center 1.0.22 of the ACE Z490 motherboard with the latest 7C71v17 BIOS and now the light turns on spontaneously.
Nobody can give another version of FW but not 07?

make sure the FW is really version 07 now, you can download the tool from here and run it to confirm.
If the version is really 07, try to go through the steps and see if you can get the LED back to normal. Do you have iCUE installed?

Yep, 07. There is no other RGB software. Clean installed Windows 21H1. But Windows does not affect. I went into the BIOS and after 10 minutes the light turned on by itself. Tried resetting CMOS - didnt work. Here I recorded a video . This and in BIOS itself happens at 04:25. And on Windows the time is 35:10.

MSI able to duplicate this issue and the issue has been forwarded to correspond vendor.
Please wait for future updates.
While waiting, MSI will also try to improve the condition and working over the issue.

The current workaround for the problem is to NOT apply different LED color/effect for different section.
For example, if you use a rainbow effect for whole motherboard, it should not be issue.

Does anyone know if there's an MSI center release notes for each version? I'd really like to look at that and see if the particular issues I'm experiencing with it are fixed before uninstalling DC (which mostly works), installing MSIC, finding out half the stuff I need is still broken on my mainboard and video card, uninstalling again and re-installing DC...
