tomahawk 550 and ryzen 5800

Good afternoon,
I'm currently building my first PC and I understand that I need to update the BIOS for my CPU and MOBO to communicate properly. I believe that I followed the instructions w/ Flash BIOS, however, I'm unsure. When I boot up my computer again it still does not show anything on my monitor. Do I need to install windows 10, via flash drive, in order to see anything display on my monitor?

Memory: Corsair vengeance LPX 16 GB 2x8
Storage: Timetec 35ttFP6PCIE 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD
GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Red Devil video card
Power Supply: EVGA Super Nova GA 850 W 80+ gold/modular
Will add windows when I can
 
Hello there I think the safest way is to format a USB stick it has to be set to NTFS format then download firmware extract it to a USB stick then enter flash mode on your motherboard if you are upgrading to a 5800 make sure you flash your motherboard before you install the new chip after you have finished updating the bios turn the PC of remove your power cable and leave the power cable out for at least 5 minutes then reboot the PC then go to the AMD website and download the latest chipset drivers for your mobo hope that helps
