how can something which isn't built for 4.0 run at 4.0 as in the mobo doesn't have the abilty to run at it even if the CPU does ?
I already told you that as well.
GPU-Z wrong readings (because you mix PCIe 3.0 & 4.0 devices).

everything on there should show why i'm confused LOL. the website says 16X 3.0 but CPUZ says X16 4.0 and on the GPUZ render it says X8 3.0.
As I told you before, the GPU-Z reading is wrong.
And that's because is checking the graphics card VBIOS (is not aware of the motherboard limitation).
So your graphics card is working at x16 3.0 (the x8 4.0 equivalent computed by GPU-Z).
Your system is running ok.

Not your fault (except the mix of 3.0 & 4.0 devices :biggrin:)
CPU-Z and GPU-Z are "forever under development".
And that's not their fault as well. :biggrin:

it looks like there's a crack on the connecter or it could be scrapped not sure.
3Dmark has a PCIE test built in to it you can check with that if it is running at full speed score should be about the same as mine

No need to buy as PCI test is included in the Base program and is free along with the free base program.

@Alan J T : 25.13GB/s
@cellanjones2159302df 14.29GB/s

Guys, you are not even close to the 4.0 x16 bandwidth: 32GB/s
Also, keep in mind that what you get is what you need.
In other words, you will never saturate the PCIe bandwidth with 3DMark.
p.s.
6800XT (256bit) is much better than 6700XT (192bit)

i know on both counts. looks like i have a black mark on some of the gold pins ( looks like a crack but not had anything else play up system wise)
