I have the MSI Trident 3 with a I7700 and a GTX 1060 3gb I got this PC because I read that is upgradable.

But now I was surfing the internet to see which 1070 videocard I needed for my trident 3 while I was looking I found a website which had told me that if you want to upgrade the trident 3 from a 1060 to 1070 you need a new power brick and a new motherboard. And also that you can't upgrade the CPU  ?!
Now I can't even find a price for the motherboard and power supy.

And since I can still return it within 30 days I'd also like to know what the option would be in the future with the gen Videocards do I have to upgrade everything inside when putting a 2070 in or something.

Even if you could just swap graphics cards, is changing a 1060 to a 1070 really worth it? Thats gonna be a decent amount of money for not that much performance boost. Especially with all the trouble you are anticipating. I'm not sure what psu it uses but its probably a flex form factor or something that has very little options in terms of upgrading. Don't understand why you would need a new motherboard. Maybe the pc was upgradable in terms of storage?

Judging from the previous generations, a 2070 will be better than a 1080 and possibly equal to a 1080 Ti. Probably for the same msrp of a 1070.
