Is this board going to receive an update to include the AMD AGESA 1.0.0.B fix to address Sinkclose? The last update was 7C60v28 on 2022-05-24.

Thank you for any information.

Wow, nothing? Does any actual MSI person read these threads? One would think that when a serious zero day exploit is discovered and patched by AMD, board manufacturers would at least put out an update that incorporates the fix to help their customers. Gigabyte came out with their updated BIOS for a comparable board, which was out at the same time this board was. Oh well, disappointing but speaks volumes as to MSI product support.

After expressing dissatisfaction with their answer, I received an additional clarification:

"MSI is rolling out the updated Bioses for AMD base units but we do not have actual release dates for all BIOSES. Any new updates will be listed on the motherboard site."

So, at least a commitment to updating their BIOSes.

It looks like your Board may be EOL none of the Threadrippes have received an update since 2022
This is for all Brands So Till AMD roll out New Bios for the Threadripper TR4 there is no way MSI or any other of AMD board partners will be able to release one

I appreciate your research and reply, but other board partners have released an update recently. I have a second TR4 platform (Gigabyte) and they released AMD AGESA 1.0.0.B to fix the Sinkclose Vulnerability of AMD processors on 8/21/24, so AMD has done their part. I don't expect unlimited updates, but this particular vulnerability has been addressed by AMD and should be passed along to existing customers.

Sinkclose Vulnerability
This seems to not be a problem with your current BIOS version

Well, that is interesting. Every article published said that Sinkclose affected ALL AMD processors made since 2006, and my BIOS was written a year or so before it was discovered. My current BIOS is E7C60AMS.280, which yields about the same results as your listing does. I'm not sure how it misses CVE-2023-31315. Curiously, it also misses it on the earliest BIOS available (E7C60AMS.210). Anyway, thanks for your efforts here. You did more than MSI did for sure.

Is it possible to run RTX 5070ti on MSI TRX40 PRO WIFI?

I just bought 2 GPU's one for my Gigabyte TRX40 and one for my MSI TRX40. The Gigabyte works, but not the MSI. It does not seem to see the card at all. Has anyone else managed to get the RTX 5000 series (blackwell) working on the MSI TRX40 motherboard??

Motherboard with the Gigabyte Bios which was updated 2025 perhaps?
Most likely won't work, and it's only something I would try if I had a BIOS Chip Programmer or Dual Bios

Well, it's been quite a while, but MSI has recently published an update - a beta - for this motherboard. Did they manage to address Sinkclose, one might ask? Nope.

Very disappointing.

I don't think so. Below is the text from the "updated" "beta" BIOS release:

2. This BIOS fixes the following problem of the previous version:
- Improved security by updating TPM firmware for better game compatibility.
Attention: If you have enabled the BitLocker function, please back up your BitLocker recovery key before performing the BIOS update. Failure to do so may result in permanent inability to log in to the operating system after the update is completed.
- Update Secure Boot keys (UEFI CA 2023)

I will turn off and upgrade my MSI TRX40 now and test with a Blackwell RTX 5070 Ti now. Hope it works :)
