As the title says, I'm trying to install my 4tb Spatium M580 4tb into my MPG 870e Carbon wifi.

These are my first MSI products and for one, its frustrating not having a physical manual. But regardless, I thought I would try the community for help. My issue is that the M580 won't sit low enough to turn the ez clip and lock it into place and I can't find what to do to remedy this.

Having the the exact same problem with identical hardware. Did you ever resolve this issue?
Yeah, so there is a little "knob" for lack of a better description that comes with the motherboard that you put in place of the quick release. There is a little tool if I remember correctly that helps you screw it in too. After that, it fit perfect.

Messenger, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Really appreciate it. From the manual it was very unclear that you could remove the entire plate and reveal the hidden 2280 mount point underneath. It looked like the additional hardware was just for mounting the shorter 2260 drives. Thanks again, that made all the difference.

Sorry to thread necro, but what I did was remove the thermal pad thats attached to the motherboard's "underside" heatspeader for the SSD. Not on the SSD itself, there is a black piece of metal with a thermal pad on it on the motherboard itself that touches the bottom of the nvme ssd. I removed that thermal pad, then the SSD fit.

Im on x870e godlike now and I didnt need to do anything special I think. i dont remember. but if there is a thermal pad on that part, you want to remove the thermal pad, otherwise m580 spatium will not fit.
