Can someone help me with this?

I thought that GX600 is compatible with WinXP? my laptop's graphics freezes for about 4 seconds and immediately reboots after when i play CnC3 while in turbo mode(sorry i don't have other games to try on). I also noticed that when I open and close the Sytem Properties under General, my CPU's speed fluctuates from 2.4Ghz to 790 Mhz and vice versa in turbo mode or without turbo mode. CnC3 does not freeze when the turbo mode is off, it plays smoothly almost like forever until i press the turbo mode. Playing CnC3 with turbo mode lasts about 10 minutes before freezing

I installed WinXP Prof build 2600 sp2, the technical staff i asked from MSI Philippines told me that they werent sure about any compatibility issues because they have not tried installing the products with XP.

btw I did the reformatting myself, and installed all the drivers that XP supports. My other system info can be seen from my signature.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try some other game as well to verify it's the game or the laptop.
Else run 3D-Mark for a while.
Anyway, I would start with a couple of round with >>Memtest86<<.

As various things can cause such.
also, turn off reboot-on-error in Windows so you can see the error.

Thanks for the speedy reply, but I'm sort of a noob with this. How do you turn off the reboot-on-error of Windows? :confused2:

Go to device manager (type in "run" "sysdm.cpl" {ENTER}, when new windows popup, choose "Advanced" tab, then click on "Settings", from there un-checkmark "Automatically restart" and confirm with OK

Thanks for the tip BOSSKILLER.

To Bas: The reboot on error did not work, and this time I played warcraft 3 TFT and it crashed on me again when the turbo mode is activated for about 10 minutes.

Now can someone tell me how to use memtest, any help would be appreciated  ???

From >>Memtest86<< select Test Number 5 (keyboard shortcut from program: "c","1","3","5","0") ensure that can loop 30 times at test N5 without any errors
Then select Test Number 7 (keyboard shortcut from program: "c","1","3","7","0") ensure that can loop 30 times without any errors

BOSSKILLER, sorry for the noobness but i was asking if how do you use memtest, what way is preferred? I'm looking at the memtest site now and I'm confused on how to install or use memtest
a little bit of topic, can you install xp games on vista? I mean literally use a installer of a game that requires xp to vista?

Download http://www.memtest.org/download/2.01/memtest86+-2.01.iso.zip
Then extract the file, and "burn image to disk" CD/DVD {with Nero for example}.
Once done reboot notebook and boot from CD/DVD. {Press "F11" or "F8" during bios post, then from popup menu pickup your optical drive}

"a little bit of topic, can you install xp games on vista? "

Yes

off topic: you mean any installer that requires xp can be used on vista? if thats the case then i'll just use the recovery cd then and revert back to vista.  :D

Ok, you need to go back to the shop where you bought the notebook and get it replaced.
I think there is a hardware problem with it, it should not behave like that, surely not with Memtest.
Seeing your experience with computers and the fact that you have warranty, my advise is go back to the store and let them fix it.
They have to do that free-of-charge as it's warranty for sure.
