TV@nywhere and Stereo

Hi, I haven't been able to get Stereo to work with my TV tuner. It is sold saying it supports it, but so far I haven't been able to figure out a solution. I know that the standard drivers originally allowed the selection of Stereo but since the most recent up date it has been greyed out, and has never worked. Are there any 3rd party drivers or actual solutions availiable for this problem?

Old drivers/software, even though it was there never worked, new ones dont either. There was a post some time ago on a different forum saying that MSI Has found issues with stereo sound and is 'working on it.' Now how long it takes them to release the updates/fixes is what matters....

You know I'm getting to point now where I will no longer buy any product, if the manufactures web site ends in a TW.
I've had nothing but bad experiences

The TV@nywhere card looks like some sort of Beta version of a soon to be released product. having an incomplete manuel, not supporting stereo, claiming to have MPEG-4 but it does not, not having any a sutible software, lousy picture quality, the remote not working for a lot of people and so on. And I haven't heard, nor read anything from MSI that shows they even care. Of coarse they don't read their own message board! They already know the product is bonk, and couldn't possoble have an intelligent excuse other than something like "Alot of people will buy it". But of coarse they'll never tell you that.

well the tw just means taiwan... and most manufacturers have a site based there. Many also have US based sites. Including MSI. Admitedly this TV tuner issues it pissing me off.

I know it means Taiwan, and the US sites are based in the US, but not the people who make the product!

I bought my msi tv tuner card at www.pcclub.com and the drivers that came with that card does produce stereo. It was when I loaded the drivers from my friends CDROM he got with his msi tv tuner card that were newer drivers then mine and also the drivers on the msi web site that caused my stereo to disappear and only work in mono. so reverted back to my original old drivers. wierd, i know

do you think you'd be able to share these drivers with us? or give us a more direct link to them as I can't seem to find them on thier site.

Thank You,

i think your wrong. i bought my card from the same place and the first card i got had software that let you select stereo and the second card, with newer software, had the stereo option grayed out. someone(i can't remember who) called msi and asked about stereo(among other things.) and they stated stereo never worked and they were working on getting it to work. i too thought i was getting stereo until i saw that post and listened my speakers closely and also concluded it in fact was not stereo.

Hi,

I am using an SB audigy card and I have stereo selected on my msi card and it is stereo, trust me. I know what stereo should sound like. Someone at MSI may just be trying to quite the crowd of complaints by saying that there was never any stereo. If anyone has an ftp site to share, i can copy the drivers that I have for people to try, since older drivers are not available on the msi site.

What is your driver version? Beacuse i have a similar setup andlike Fam conluded that it indeed was not stereo. SAP audio did not work either, easiest test was comparing side by side the Tuner vs the TV right next to me in my bedroom. Every channel on the tuner was mono compared to the TV (using the packaged drivers/beta/newest released drivers).

Welp, I just tried SAP for the first time and it works just fine, the fonts look a little funky, but it worked fine. I did have to temporarily toggle in the setup between antenna and and back to cable and I selected "turn on CC on mute" then whenever i mute it, it starts up the SAP broadcast. Once, again unless my ears are decieving me, I hear stereo when stereo is selected. Please read the forum reply by captune dated today, he obviously did alot of research. His facts make me want to believe my ears are decieving me. Anyway, my eyes are not deceiving me, I can without question state, that SAP is working. Here are my drivers info under Microsoft ME under control panel/system settings. My guess they are no different then anyone elses. capture, telsigmaco.ltd 7/16/02

kody what your reading is called "closed caption" or cc for short. in regards to that, it worked for me in the earlier versions of pvs but not the latest versions. sap stands for "second audio program" and not all stations and programs support it. as a matter of fact most don't support it. it's main use is to simulcast the spanish version of the dialouge on the tv. so if your spanish speaking this would really be an important feature, if not no big deal. hope this clears some things up.
