TV @nywhere - Getting the Remote to worl

Hey all,

I can't figure out how to get the remote thingy to work with the software program I was using.

I pulled that paper tab out, so that the battery should be connected, and I have the remote receiver plugged into the back.

The light on the front of the remote does not come on at all (dunno if its suppose to).

How is this thing suppose to work?

Ar you using XP? If Yes, did u install Service Pack 1? I had similar problems but reverted (reofrmate, u can use system restore) back before SP1 and my remote started working.

Yep you need wincinema manager, however with XP & SP1, it totally screwed the controller so it wouldnt work unless you uninstall it (A few other ppl had the same exact problems on XP as I did on a different forum).

is there a light on the remote so I can tell if its even working? the remote sensor doesnt light up at all (dont know if its suppose to).

also, anyone get drivers that work with SP1?

I only saw a very very faint red light come up in a pitch black room. Try uninstalling SP1, i dont think it will work unless MSI gives us updated software/drivers.

Well I don't think that XP and SP1 have anything to do with it.
Because I am on XP with the SP1, I've only had two problems with my remote not working. Once when the plug was not fully plugged in to the card. I plugged it in and felt a small click, and I thought it was fully in, but after applying a little more pressure the plug went in even further.
The second time, I tried to use it without InterVideo WinCinema Manager running. And fixed that by starting it.

XP with SP1 have nothing to do with it.

[***CENSORED***]! that's what was prolly wrong with mine. i sent it back for an exchange because the ir receiver didn't work but i never tried it with wincinema manager running because i disabled it from startup. thanks for the golden nugget of info, to bad i didn't get before i sent it back.

For people with working WinDVR software under XP SP1 if you're using a Nvidia graphics card can you post the driver version that you currently have installed? Cause I think the video drivers are causing my issues.

Im not sure, because when ever SP1 is installed WinDVR goes nuts (wincinema is enabled, but control ceases to function and it gives me that flashing 000 ?( ), so not sure. I was recommended to try and uninstall SP1 because a tech at the store I got it from had a few customers that had the same exact problems as me, it might not be SP1 in general but something in it triggers my system to have what looks like a faulty remote. The Nvidia card im using is a Visiontek GF3 on 30.82's right now. Tim, mind if u give any more of your system info/config? Since you got it working, its making me wonder why it does that everytime.

Ok, I just upgraded my nVidia card drivers and i'm getting these constant 000s across WinDVR when I open it.
Therefore, it should be a problem with the new nVidia drivers - the 0 problem.
Still can't get the remote to work though. Can anyone recommend another TV tuner card with a remote? I saw a Zenith one in the store, anyone know if its any good?

What drivers were u using before? and were u using SP1? I can use any drivers before I install the service pack and it works fine.

Ok I'm on

Win XP with the SP1
On a MSI KT3 Ultra (Via KT333 Chipset)
Athlon XP 2000+ CPU
And a eVGA NVIDA GForce 2 MX400 Graphics Card. First had the 2.9 dirvers in and have upgraded to the latest 3.0.8.2 (both drivers had no problems.) with Win DVR.
I am also using the bundled drivers.

My only problem is MONO sound!

never tried remote b4 sp1 with cinemanager loaded. i'm using:

ecs p6vapa+ mb
xp pro w SP1
p3-800
392 mb ram
msi geforce 2 mx 440

30.82 nvidia drivers

I had the older nvidia drivers (the last ones b4 the 30.82) and I didnt have the 000s problem. I thought upgrading the drivers would help stuff - obviously not.

anyone know when msi is going to make new drivers for the TV @nywhere?

hmm, as for the mono sound, I remember reading a post where someone said MSI was working on new drivers for it as Stereo/SAP isnt working yet. And for the nvidia drivers, i seem to get the same problem through (flashing 000's, and remote quits working)the 28-40 + sp1, without sp1 any driver seems to work fine, havent tried any earlier though.

Ok i uninstalled SP1 and my remote was somewhat working, but now it totally stopped. It worked with a little delay, but now, its not working at all.

any ideas?
