TV Out on MSI G4MX460-VTP - No other thread helped

I recently purchased an MSI G4MX460-VTP Video Card, and was eager to try and get TV-Out going on it.

According to the manual I should be using S-Video to output to my TV. So I went out and purchased an S-Video to RCA Adaptor.

I've tried every possible combination to get the card to go out to the TV (from the 1 to 4 output dongle), and the only thing that happens, is the TV goes White. Thus nothing is displayed.

It does this regardless of refresh rate or resolution on my PC. I attempted switching the resolution to 640x480 in 256 colours with 60Hz (lowest available) to no avail.

Can you tell me if the card fully supports PAL output for Australia, and suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I know that TV-Out from my PC works, as I have a DVD Decoder card, and TV-Out from that works without a problem.

I'm using designated drivers from MSI Website (Detonator 28.90). I have tried using TV Tools, and I get the TV Test Screen (Coloured vertical Bars, yet when I flick it over to TV, the tv gets a black screen with Grey border. TV is a brand new 51cm Teac.

Reinstalling is NOT an option, as I do alot of work from home, and have both hard drives basically full of information (whilst it is backed up) I use a number of programs, and resetting up would be a massive headache, and at least a week trying to get everything working nicely again. If a card's functions can't be made to work without formatting my HDD, then the card can go back to the supplier, and I will switch to a more reliable brand.

PC Specs
AMD Athlon 1Ghz
512MB PC2100 DDR RAM (AMD Certified)
2 x 20GB IBM 7200 RPM HDD's
ASUS A7A 266 Motherboard supporting AGP 4x. with Bios 1004.

Okay Managed to get it going ...

Though now its really Blurry (on TV) using TV Tools, and Nview panel has dissapearred.

The only other problem is that is it out of alignment (I.E Wrong resolution).

I'm running 800x600 @ 60Hz with TV Tools 6.5

As I know TVTools don't support TV Out from nvidia product, no yet. You can confirm that at TVTool website.

But, you should can use TwinView driver from Nvidia. I have same card like you have (G4MX460-VTP) and until now i think the picture is good enough (fyi, picture from S-Video connector more clear than RCA jack but cable too short !) and don't have problem yet ;)

Sorry, for your trouble X(

I had the same problem. My TV was always blue. Sometime with various grey transparent lines in pack runnig dow the screen.
First i try with TV tool. At least appear the colours bar. but didnt work.
Then i removed the nvidia drives 29.42 that I installed and then I removed the WMD drivers that came with the card. Turn of the computer. Wait few seconds.
Reinitialize. Now I installed the 27.50 drives and the capture drives that I download from MSI.
DONT USE the 27.50 Drives with the with the last nvidia capture drives. Its f** up my pc.
The I initiate the pc again and I dont know how it works!!
Try to switch the pci sound card from one slot to another, it should fix. ;)

Hi !
1: try 28.32 detonator
2: Tv-tool supports G4 Ti cards, not MX's, sorry :p
3: card supports pal and NTSC and whatever u need :)
(in n-view panel, right click to "tv" "display" (with clone activated) and u'll see : choose outut device or something like that...click to it and you can select "encoding" there....PAL
4: if you'll be able to activate clone - card works
if not check connections, after clon acivated check ur tv modes.

well good luck...
mr. Liz ? :]
