Hi guy's

I'm looking to but an MSI TI4200 (one of the 128mb models) but the places I usually get my hardware from (dabs, watford and ebuyer) don't have any available.

Does anyone know a good place to buy one of these graphics cards at a reasonable price?

I bought one of these from scan.co.uk. £130 inc VAT, plus £7 shipping. Ordered Saturday, arrived Tuesday, as promised.
It's 128M full retail version, with s-VHS cable, DVI-VGA adaptor and software/games bundle.

Does anyone know if Newegg.com only delivers inside the US? I've just been over to their site but I couldn't find where they ship to.

Damn, I knew it was too good to be true. They've got some good deals at newegg.

Ah well.

Johnny Englishman has found the best deal on this graphics card, £129.25 at Scan, if anyone else is looking for one.

Also, some people have been complaining of malfunctioning GF4's. The problem seems to have been due a lack of power from the PSU in most circumstances.

I'm using the 300w PSU that came pre-installed in my Suntek Eclipse case and I intend to O/C this card. Does anyone think it'll give me any problems?

Cheers, Xune.

Strangely enough, I have had problems with my new MSI 4200 128M card. It sometimes says 16M and sometimes 32M in the display properties, on things like SiSoft Sandra or 3dmark. I haven't noticed anything else wrong, it seems to work fine.
I'm sure its my el cheapo '300W' psu, as i tried removing as many peripherals/cards as I could, and slowing the CPU down, and then it would report 128M...so now I'm looking for a _decent_ >300W PSU.

Well look out for a PSU that has a combined wattage of 200 across the 3.3v and 5v rails.

At least, thats what I've read in wonkanoby's post in "Problem with G4Ti4200". I personally don't know what this means, although I think I'll have a clearer understanding when I take a look at my PSU later on. :D

After reading tha article I opened up me case and this is what I found:

5v = 30A
3.3v = 22A

Combined total = 180W

Is this borderline for running the card I want or will I need to find a new PSU too?

Xune,

You are on the edge. 200W combined would be better. I would give it a shot first. If you have problems, get a new one.

Good Luck,

Richard

So I got a new 350W enermax psu, 185W for 3V3/5V. Now I see 128Meg of video ram :)

I get a 3dmark of 10307 at at stock speeds, and 11349 at 550/310. Not too shabby. I haven't really pushed the overclock, just picked what I thought would work.

Are those O/C scores without adding any other bits to the card (ramsinks etc)?

I'd like to know for when I come to O/C my one.

Cheers, Xune.

Xune,

That was straight out of the box, using the MSI clock utility. It didn't like 600 for the RAM, so I dropped to 550 , which has been stable for a couple of hours. I just picked 310 for the core, so that may go higher.

John.
