Windows will not boot after enabling xmp. Goes to a black screen that says something about it not being able to work with the new settings and reverts it back to the old settings.

Motherboard: MSI b760 gaming plus wifi
BIOS Ver: 7D98vHA

CPU: I5 13600KF

GPU: MSI 1060 6GB

RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz CL36-48-48-104 1.35V

PSU: MSI MAG R850GL PCIE5

May be worth mentioning that I only have the 8pin CPU power_1 plugged in and not the 4pin CPU power_2. Not sure if that is the reason it's not working.

My power supply only has 2x 8pin CPU connectors, no 4pins.
Could I use this product to plug into one of the 8pins and than in to both CPU Power_1 and 2?
(EPS12V CPU 8 Pin Female to CPU ATX 8 Pin and ATX 4 Pin Male Power Supply Extension Cable)

I figured out that the 8 pin CPU cord I had was a 4x4 CPU cord so I was able to connect both CPU Power_1 and 2.
I than tried to enable XMP again and took pictures.

Are you using matched memory pairs?
Have you tested each one of the memory sticks alone?
In which DIMM slots they are installed?

Yes the ram sticks are matching and are in dimm slots 2 and 4, as recommended by the motherboard. So you are saying I should try to over clock it with only one stick plugged in? Everything in the pc is new aside from the GPU, if that makes any difference.

Yes, that will bring some light what could be wrong.
You may have a broken stick so testing each one individually would helps to isolate the issue.
I have not had the chance to test this, likely will do so tomorrow. I was just wondering if I need to also test the sticks in dimm slot 1 and 3? Or should 2 and 4 be fine?

When testing the single memory stick in the system use DIMMA2
When 2 sticks are installed, use DIMMA2 & DIMMB2

tested both in DIMMA2 and only one worked with OC... kind of disappointing considering they are brand new and came as a pair..

Anything I can do about it or is contacting the manufacturer the only option?

Just RMA them both for replacement.

Nope, send them back for replacement.
Just wanted to thank you for the help, I ended up refunding them for some G.SKILL Trident Z5's because I would have had to wait longer if I warrantied them with the manufacturer. The new ones arrived today and were able to instantly OC. :)

Appreciate the assistance.
