Hi guys, recently just built this pc with windows 10 64bit on it.
CPU: Intel I5-8400
MOBO: MSI h370 gaming pro carbon
GPU: MSI GTX1080 gaming x
RAM: 16gb corsair vengeance lpx
PSU: Corsair rm650x
CASE: NZXT S340 Elite
Recently i bought three case fans, Corsair ml120, to replace the stock fans from my case. I noticed that there was a socket on the motherboard "jcorsair1" and plugged the connector from the fan hub into it. I thought that i would be able to use mysticlight to configure the color of the fans, but when i opened the app, all i could see was my motherboard and gpu. So i thought that by updating the bios i would be able to control it. Downloaded the bios files from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H370-GAMING-PLUS and flashed it. However after the bar went to 100%, i got a blue screen, bad system config info. I managed to get pass that and boot into windows. That is when i found out that my ethernet adapter stopped working. It gives me the error "Ethernet Connection I129-V adapter is experiencing driver - or hardware - related problems" and giving me "code 10 device cannot start". Did more research and found out my mac address was invalid. So i went to check my network adapters, but the page was empty. Did getmac on command prompt and got "disabled" and "disconnected". I then reverted my bios version back in hopes of being able to get my mac address back, but didnt work.
What should i do now?

Just did all 3, with the same results no adapters. For the final one, i got this "No valid Intel(R) PRO adapters found!"
I got a reply from MSI, with a link to download a "ilan" folder with eeupdate on it and was told to run a bat file (eeupdate /nic=1 /mac=xxxxxxxxxx) in DOS which i did but got an error saying that the tool is not compatible with my windows version, am i doing something wrong?

For me the #3 should work because it has with another user having the same I219-V adapter. Furthermore, in your previous post you have reported good identification of your onboard adapter:
[attachthumb=1] [attachthumb=2]
Please, can you confirm that you have done exactly that:
- Boot on the Rufus USB key where you have extracted the archive "mac207a.zip", so that you arrive at a DOS screen with only "C:\>"
- Type "cd \int219kb", so that you have now "C:\Int219KB>" displayed
- Type "eeupdate /nic=1 /mac=<MAC ADDRESS>" and you got the message "No valid Intel(R) PRO adapters found!"
Right? (Please, redo to be certain)

Now,
1/ Type "eeupdate" => What is displayed
(a screen copy should be very usefull)?
2/ Type "eeupdate /BUS=0 /DEV=1F /MAC=<MAC ADDRESS>" => Result?

I think that "Ilan" folder must be copied at the root of your Rufus USB boot key, then you have to:
- boot with the key (as previously),
- enter command at the "C:\>" prompt "cd \Ilan" then "<Name of the bat file>"

Good luck,

Thanks!
It sounds like DidVid=0x15BC8086 is not recognized as an Intel I219-V LAN adapter by the EEUPDATE 5.27.0.1 version. In fact, this version recognizes only those with DidVid=0x15B88086, 0x15708086, 0x15D88086 and 0x15D68086.

What is the result with the "iLan" archive furnished by MSI Support when you use it with Rufus boot key? Please, can you upload a screen copy as previous?

Friendly yours,
:emot-tip-wink:

Thanks!
Of course, it cannot work also because it is the EEUPDATE 5.24.28.0 version that is older than the 5.27.0.1 version you have previously tested (Int219KB). I know a 5.30 version is available and I believe that it shall work. Unfortunately, only enterprise having an account can download it: >>How obtain EEUPDATE tool and LANConf tool<<. Perhaps, MSI Team can...
In waiting the MSI Support answer, I will try to obtain it.

Hello,
1/ Has MSI support furnished the last version of EEUPDATE (V3.50?)? If yes, can you confirm that it has resolved your problem and, please, share it?
2/ If problem is not resolved, you would be able to set the mac address directly in Windows 10. Of course, a firmware update is better but that should permit to use LAN in waiting. Open registry, then set value of "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\Network Address" as the 6 hexadecimal digits (without ":" and "-") you want as mac address.
Have a good day,
:emot-tip-wink:

Hello!
Unfortunately, MSI has not resolved the issue yet, and editing the registry didn't fix it either :( Hopefully MSI would come up with a solution soon

:scratchchin: Very strange... Please, can you upload a screen copy of the registry hive "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}"?

I believe that the only solution is to obtain from Intel a more recent EEUPDATE version.
See you soon,

!!! IT`s WORK!!!! EEUPDATE 5.30 !!!
 1. Make a boot USB flash drive and extract the  I219MAC tool.
2. Click on MAC.bat (right-click to edit), write the correct MAC address and save the file.
3. Copy these four files to the bootable USB drive and run MAC.BAT in DOS for a try.
