Glad to be back hehehe
The X79A-GD45 Plus is quite unique because of the new Black and Grey color theme that MSI applied on the board and also for its new chipset heatsink design. In terms of new features, the board?s audio software is improved. From the previous THX audio software it is now updated to Sound Blaster Cinema, giving the listener better audio experience.
The packaging is same as last year?s. The Military Class III logo in front indicates ?5 Stars? meaning that the board is equipped with reliable and sturdy components such as Hi-C Capacitors, Solid Capacitors, Super Ferrite Choke and lastly DrMos II (Driver Mosfet).
Turning the board around, you will find more info about the board?s other features ? Click Bios II, Instant OC, Super-Charger and OC Genie II.
Below are the bundles:
? Mainboard Manual and Quick Installation Guide
? Software & Application Manual
? Short Overclocking Guide
? Certificate of Quality and Stability (Military Class III Components)
? Driver & Utility Disc
? M-Connector
? 3x SATA 6GB/s Cable
? SLI Bridge
? I/O Back Plate
Check out the board. I?m glad that MSI released a motherboard with this kind of color scheme. The layout is clean and sleek looking.
Basic Specification of the Board:
?CPU: Supports 2nd Generation Intel? Core i7 processors in LGA2011 package.
?Chipset: X79
?Memory: Supports eight unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 1066/1333/1600/1800*/2133*/2400* (*OC) DRAM, 128GB Max
? 3 PCI Express gen3 x16 slots / 2 PCI Express gen2 x16 slots / 1 PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot
? Supports four SATAII ports (SATA3~6) by X79 / Supports two SATAIII ports (SATA1~2) by X79
? 3x USB 3.0 / 8x USB 2.0
Closer look on the upper area of the board. 9 Power Phase for the CPU Socket and I think 4 for the DIMM slots.
Your choice: SLI, Crossfire or 3-Way SLI ? (16,16,8x Speed) . Below the Slots you will find the Easy Buttons ? OC Genie and Power Button. Headers are also present like USB 2.0/ USB3.0 etc?
Starting on the left, we have the 4 pin Molex connector to provide additional power for a multi-graphic card setup. Then 4x SATA 3GB/s Connector and the last two are SATA 6GB/s Connector.
By the way, there is also a hard switch for Multi-Bios Selection in between of the SATA ports and the 24Pin Power Connector for the motherboard.
? 1x PS/2 Keyboard port
? 1x PS/2 Mouse port
? 1x Clear CMOS button
