It turns out Geil is located in my local area. I gave them a call and told them about the problem I was having. My Geil GD DDR400 at 2-3-3-6 would give 20000 errors in memtest. I talk to one of the tech support member and he asked me to bring my machine in. I drove about 15 min to get their office. I ran the memtest for him at a lower speed just to show him that even at DDR333, there were errors. He tested my memory chip on my machine and on a different machine, it resulted in errors. It turns out it is a bad chip.

He gave me a replacement right away and we tested it. Memtest went fine. All tests passed at DDR 400 2-3-3-6

I bought it home, and ran Postal 2. This is the game where I found out my puter may have memory problems. Because whenever I quit the game, windows would report a critical error or random reboots.

Everything seems to be ok now, and I thank Geil for their great tech support. I will buy Geil again.

For those people having problems with Geil memory, contact them and try to get a replacement. Worked for me!

Good luck Everyone.

Update -

Everything seems to be fine. Postal 2 worked fine too which always made my windows crash with critical error or random reboots.

But when I run Prime95, it still halts with an error after one min. Is there something I am missing?

and in MemTest86 it seems like test stops at 7 and loops. Do i need to test 8-11?

Wow, that's awesome that GeIL is only 15 min. away from you! :lol_anim:

How lucky! You should try to get some freebies, or at least a discount.

I just did some more testing with this memory

Prime95 halts within 1 min at DDR400 2-3-3-6 at volt 2.6

Prime95 ran ok up to 2 hours at DDR333 2-3-3-6 at volt 2.6 - I quit myself

Prime95 is being tested at the moment at DDR400 2-3-3-6 at Volt 2.7

about 10 min has passed still running.

Still running. This votage stuff should be stated on the MSI site as FAQ or Manual.

We users do not have to go through this much trouble to get the system working.

it looks like neo's default volt is 2.5. And I believe higher performance memory requires higher voltage like 2.7.

So far I am very happy because of Geil's great support. One of the technitian's name was Mike. Very nice guy.

I am sold on their tech support. I will buy Geil again

I had Geil 3500 ultra 2cas on my old nforce board. It LIKES the volts. I ran it at 2.9 the whole time. Best thing is 2.9 does NOT void the warranty. I believe it is rated at 2.7 to 2.9. I don't think 2.5 is much juice for 400 ram.
I liked the Geil and it never gave me any trouble. I put it in this board and it worked fine, however I upped the volts to 2.9 right off the bat.

Yea. Geil tech suggested the same.

The prime 95 is still running. And I am very happy.

However I should reinstall windows. because this windows was installed with bad mem.
