I did this yesterday, is there a way to verify the vBIOS version upgraded? How do I know that I've actually unlocked the additional performance if I didn't do benchmarks beforehand?

Yeah, the Alienware also has 165W and that’s thinner and has far worse cooling!
I feel left in the cold, don’t do that MSI!
Yeah, tell me about it! Dell is even worse about forcing you to upgrade. On my Alienware Aurora R7, it came with an i7-8700K and the board will take an i9-9900K, but Dell refused to release a BIOS update to allow it. Because they wanted you to buy a whole new machine in the Aurora R8 to get it. The R8 is basically the same machine as the R7 hardware-wise, but with a BIOS update to enable the i9-9900K. That was back in 2018. Till this day, still no BIOS update to allow the R7 to support the i9.

I considered an Alienware R15 when I bought my GE66 12UHS-235, but Alienware sucks with the PCIE controllers. They seem to be allergic to Gen4 ports just as Asus is allergic to Thunderbolt 4 ports :bonk:.
