So this is the user modified BIOS forum?
So there are BIOSes posted here that are modified by users?

How do users modify BIOS and post it here?
I see no source code, so I dont understand how they can modify it...

and Beta BIOSes as well.

they can be manipulated with programs like modbin (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=99187.0) and similar

Yeah there is no source code.  Best you can do is break it down line by line to assembly languague to reverse engineer it.  Even then there are only a handful of individuals on the internet that do this.  Even then adding stuff to the BIOS is almost impossible.  Most BIOS's here are modded using Award. Phoenix or AMI BIOS editors which do the dirty work of modifing the code.  Some of the more advanced mods you mod some of the other BIOS modules with a hex editor.

Oh. :(

I think that MSI should release the source code to the BIOS...

unles you know assembly programing it would be useless to you. the BIOS that the users mod is the one which is provided by MSI on their pages. some of the features are hidden, some of them added, basically making it easier to use. also, some of the BIOS modules get an update.
judgning by your questions, you should stay away from BIOS modding for now. read up on it more on the web, just google it, but you're clearly not ready to  do one yourself.

I don't know Assembly language, so you're right, I wouldn't be very useful for me, but I am sure there are plenty of people who does knows Assembly programming who it could be useful for. I believe it would be good if the source code was released so that that anyone with the knowledge could inspect and modify the source code of the BIOS on their computer.

You're also right that I should stay away from BIOS modding, and I will. I don't plan to modify the BIOS, though I do believe the source code should be publically available.

That would have every Tom, Dick and Harry modding the BIOS. The features for boards would be fully compromisable.

MSI and/or any other manufacturers wouldn't want that.

That would be great!
Every Tom, Dick and Harry should be able to mod their BIOS if they knew how-to, and had a wish todo so.

But they can't and no manufacturer will change that.

you do realize that MSI will have tons of RMAs because of that? of course it will be explained that you do it at your own risk, but let's face it, people are not too bright when it comes down to taking responsabilities for their own actions.
