Vector 17 HX A14VGG only boot to BIOS after upgrade; unable to change BIOS settings

My Vector 17 HX A14VGG laptop's Windows started crashing repeatedly, possibly due to overheat. So yesterday I updated BIOS to the latest version E17S2IMS.911, which completed successfully, but now the laptop only boots to BIOS screen, not to Windows or even bootable USB drive. I attempted to change BIOS settings, but it could not save any change I made. Attempts to downgrade BIOS to an earlier version failed because I could not enable Allow BIOS Downgrade setting; any change to BIOS settings just would not save.

How can I fix this issue? Thanks.
 
Tried checking if the system storage disk was correctly recognized in the BIOS interface's storage information. also tried shutting down the laptop, removing the AC adapter, pressing and holding the power button for 25 seconds to reset the EC, and then reconnecting the AC adapter.
