Vector GP66 Major Input Lag Issues

Recently I got a GP66 and the one thing I've noticed is that there is a major input lag problem with the laptop, this is especially annoying in games like Payday 2, where the game is basically unplayable due to this issue.

This seems to only affect the keyboard, as I've not suffered from mouse lag.

I do not know whether this is relating to that Nehimic audio driver issue or relating to some other program I have installed onto the laptop.

The model I have is the VECTOR GP66 12UGSO-801AU

Any help would be greatly appeciated.

If you only have this problem while playing Payday 2, it might be the game optimization problem.
How about verifing the game file, reinstall keyboard driver or use another external keyboard?
I do not think Nahimic audio dirver is connected to the issue. Do you find any clue?

Payday 2 has the worst input lag, it is occasionally noticeable whilst doing other things, as various keys continue for longer than held, or backlog into an input queue.
This issue does not occur with the mouse I have at all, I've had no input lag regarding my mouse, only the keyboard.
I'm not sure what programs could be causing my keyboard to occasionally backlog inputs

Which windows operating version do you have? The latest version of 22H2?
You can open Notepad and type some words to do the test if you encounter the same issue.
The behavior could be caused by SteelSeries PS/2 Keyboard driver, SteelSeries GG software, etc.
1. It is suggested to have the latest BIOS.
MSI® HOW-TO update BIOS on MSI notebook
2. SteelSeries PS/2 Keyboard driver uninstall and perform windows update. It will be installed back.
Device manager > Keyboards > SteelSeries PS/2 Keyboard > Uninstall device (Check "Attempt to remove the driver for this device")
3. App & Features > Search "SteelSeries" > Uninstall
After uninstalling SteelSeries GG, it can help you to recognize if the problem is caused by it.

Maybe start by using that to see what your overall latency is, and maybe fix whatever program or driver is causing the issue?
There appear to be three programs that are popping up in LatencyMon:
nvlddmkm.sys
ACPI.sys
Wdf01000.sys

I've attached the results from LatencyMon that I ran for 28 minutes:

I do not think you can use LatencyMon to analysis the keyboard input lag. It is suggested to start troubleshooting from the keyboard related driver and utilities.

Given the info he provided and google....you'll find you're quite wrong.....

Do a quick google search for wdf01000.sys latency and you'll find lots of info.....
I would probably start by creating a new power plan and setting that up, and seeing if that resolves the issue....
Otherwise, you can see : https://windowsreport.com/wdf01000-sys-latency/
Maybe that'll help.
But it seems like you're not the only one with very high latency due to wdf01000.sys. Many are claiming the same 'lag' issues you have, and having the similar latency mon info as yours.

You can use keyboard scan rate test if the response time is normal or not.
Provide the usage scenario when you encounter the input lag exepct for playing payday 2.
Did you have the input lag problem when you have low performance while playing payday 2?

Recently I played Payday 2 again and the input lag now is gone. (Although another issue popped up but not related)

Some changes I made to my system that may have solved this issue include:
- Disabling CPU sleeping
- Toggling MSI mode for the GPU and setting the priority of the GPU and audio drivers to high
- Changing some in-game settings for Payday 2 (Although this was changed after input lag was gone)
- Disabled some startup apps that may have affected system performance.
- Disabling the High Precision Event Driver and setting the timer resolution to 0.5ms
- Changing some Windows Power Plan settings to make CPU run at full power when on charge.
- Changing the CPU cores used by certain apps and drivers.

Those are just some of the main things I can remember that I've changed to improve performance.
There are still issues regarding some of those programs that popped up in LatencyMon, however the results are better than previously recorded.
