Via vs. Promise???

:confused2: Question- I am setting up the K8T Neo-FIS2R Mobo and would like to know what the difference is between the the SATA Via and Promise options??? Is one better than the other or do I just flip a coin??? Thanks.

no one has answered this question yet: if using RAID 0+1, what size should the ATA drive on IDE 3 be and should there be more than one? It is my assumption that the IDE 3 in a 0+1 array acts as the mirror, while the two SATA drives constitute the "0" in 0+1. The reason I ask this is because with RAID arrays, the drives must be the same and at least the same size or else the larger drive defualts to the smaller drive.

Would this configuration be permissible:

0+1

SATA RAID = 2 X 74 Gig Raptors in 0 array
ATA133 on IDE 3 = 40 Gig Maxtor for the +1 array

???

i just called MSI and asked.

Only Promise does the 0+1 and the ATA hard drive or drives (2 max) have to equal the size of the 0 array.
