Video Cards for the K8T Neo

I am looking at getting this motherboard (K8T Neo) as an upgrade in the near future. I am also looking at getting a new video card. I was wondering what graphic cards that people are using in there machines using this MB and how they run? I play lots games, so I am looking for performance and stability throughout different games.

9800 XT all teh way, I love this card,

my system is stable, and fast as hell, and never had one problem with it,

Although I have always been a die hard fan from Nvidia I switched to Ati cause Nvidia really messed up there last series of cards. They get too hot , show less detail, and really can't measure up to the power of a good Ati. One thing is true though and that is that I liked the Nvidia drivers a heck of a lot better !! More stable and less hassle. You really have to puzzle a while before you get the driversettings as you wish them to be. But after that it is woorth your while !!! A friend of mine uses the Gf 5950 and I have the Asus 9800 XT. On our last lan party I was shocked when I saw him play Far Cry. Where the seperate straws of grass are displayed on my card his just shows green squares. I play the same res and the same setting ( AA x 6 , AF X 8 ).He might get about 5% higher framerates but if that means that your missing out on a lot of splendor of this great looking game what's the use ? I score an average of a little over 40 frames , what more do you need ? If we play Unreal next to each other you will find more details and more reflections and stuff on my card while they both cost about the same. So the answer here is quite simple. You can't have and the highest quality and a real solid driver support. Either go for the driver or for the quality. I must say in the defence of Ati that with a little bit of tinkering in the settings you get almost all games working just great. I almost use AA X 6 and AF I let the card decide for itself application bound ? and in that setting almost all games work like a charm. I benched my card after a clean install and with no oc'ing I scored a little over 44K in Aquamark 3 , not bad he ? If you are a die hard gamer like you say go Ati you won't regret it especially after you seen it in actiuon beside a GF. And about HL , Valve software has to release a patch cause it won't run native on GF cause the Nvidia cards don't apply with all the DX9 restrictions. Is that an option then for a gamer ? Oh , and check out Far Cry after you seen that you will forget about HL 2 very quick :biggthumbsup: GOOD LUCK !!
