Hi,

I've been reading some threads about problems similar to mine, I can't seem to quite find what I want, so here's what I want to do.

I have a vcr connected to my tv, and I want to use the tv out of my vcr to be connected to my pc to see the picture on my monitor. I think everything is correctly connected. Now, I'm not sure how to view it. I've read that I need to use WinProducer to look a it, but I can't seem to find the right settings to view it.

Am I using the good program?

What settings should I use to correctly see the picture?

Any program (freeware or shareware) that does the trick better?

Many thanks in advance,

Mathieu

I've downloaded the asus digital vcr, and I've got the same problem that I had before... what ever settings I take (composite, tv tuner and s-video), I can't seem to get a picture... it can be all black, or it can also be horizontal grey lines, but I get no pictures... what could be the problem? What can I try?

did you install the Nvida Capture drivers? Go here bottom of page

if you are getting sound, if hooked up, but no video you more than likely need the capture drivers... just install these drivers, and you should be fine.
then you should be able to use the video in
the driver should work with all nvidia based vid cards

happy hunting

Hi,

I feel so dumb... but it still doesn't work :(

The capture drivers were installed (when I tried the file specified, it asked if I wanted to uninstall the driver... I did, to reinstall them right after, and it still doesn't work...

I really don't understand... is there a way to test the connection? Or any other suggestions?

THanks for all your help so far...

Hi,

I used to have the same problem with winproducer so I gave up with that long ago. Now I use Virtual Dub 1.4.8 and I have no trouble with capture at all.

But just to view what the VCR is playing and no need to capture I use MV2 Player. This is an absolutely awesome multimedia player. It plays DVD's avi's audio cd's mpeg's and it has an in built menu to control it's operation. I use this in conjunction with uICE (Universal Infrared Control Engine) and an IR Man (receiver device) to control it via infrared.

I always set the tuner to composite then I get a decent colour picture.

Hope this helps!
