Video through USB-C on MSI Modern MD272QXPW

Hi, I just got the MSI Modern MD272QXPW monitor, but I'm having a hard time getting video through a single USB-C cable.
I am able to get Power + KM&B (connected to the back), but switching the input to USB-C can't find any of my devices. Only HDMI gets video.
I'm trying this on a Mac (MB PRO M1 Max) and Windows (Rog Ally).
Any ideas?

does the USB type C cable support signal output? is the input source set to Type C in the OSD menu?

It was excactly this - i had a 2.0 cable, just got a 3.2 and it works as expected. Thanks!
