Just a heads up...I should of checked here 1st I guess as I see it happening on the Tomahawk too......

Happen to me yesterday going from V16>V17 via M-Flash

RMA is the only fix I have been told - 2-4 week wait - not possible , it is my new CAD Workstation.....

I have reported it and spoken to TS , but the Bios is still up on the support page.....

Which ram kit are you using, 4266Mhz stable? :pompom:
yes this is the lowest timing i could get 20 22 22 42 1.36v and if i decrease any of these values by 1 occt gives error. model is corsair LPX 3600mhz 16x2 gb kit

RMA and send MB to aftermarket company, they find damage(scratch and damage) on MB and NO garantee. Now i think have possible: new bios put toomuch power or something to component and it "exploded" and do that scratch ? My MB works fine before update 6 month and i dont even open 'box' after installation. I solve problem: buy new MB, different manufacturer and MB with flashbios button :angryfire:

You should complain to the company, somebody did that with a screwdriver or other metal/hard object by accident. Those little SMD resistors don't explode by themselves. If something explodes on a mainboard, it's usually a powerstage / MOSFET or maybe a capacitor, but not such small passive elements. If something explodes, you see burn marks, like some charring for example, and not a long scratch. This was done by someone who wasn't careful, and it sheered that little resistor right off from the mechanical force.

I downloaded the newest update today and brigged my mobo I got a z490 mag tomahawk and it's dead, I don't think I can RMA it because I have had it for a year I think.

Depends on your country, look up how much warranty you get. It can be up to three years. Plus, it should be known by now that the latest one or two BIOS updates can brick a Z490 board for some reason, through no fault of your own, so they might even help you if you're (just) out of warranty.

It's pretty bad they are still live on their website, like wtf are MSI doing? and howcome they spared the flashback function away on the board? that is completely f..ed

I really wish I saw this forum thread before I tried to update the BIOS. I went from BIOS 1.70 to 1.90 on the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WIFI and now I am stuck on the CPU LED with no POST. I tried removing all peripherals, removed additional RAM, Reset CMOS and nothing. Opening a support case now.
