Well, as you can see from the statistics in the first post, it can happen with either method. You did nothing wrong. I think the MSI Center method also calls the normal BIOS flash mode as well in the end, similar to M-Flash in the BIOS. I also exclusively flash via M-Flash, because i don't even consider installing MSI Center (i don't like that tool, it can mess with your Windows settings and for a lot of its features, there are different ways to do it better). But in this instance, i don't think the risk is much lower if you use M-Flash.

If you can't wait for customer support because you anticipate it will take too long, then you can either try with an external programming tool which seems pretty successful here, or you can outright buy a new board, have your old board replaced/fixed by MSI and sell the replacement board later. As you may have concluded yourself, the Flash BIOS Button can be quite an important feature. At least it helps to eliminate any worry about a BIOS update. Most MSI Z590 boards have one, and they can also take a 10th gen CPU.
Thanks for the tip. I already had it replaced, but I will consider a new motherboard.

Are the new z490 bios(2022-04-27) safe?
for me it worked, everything is working fine with the new Bios

CPU: 11700F
Motherboard: MSI Z490i Unify
Bios Version before: 7C77v18
Bios Version after: 7C77v1B
Flash Method: via USB (M-Flash)
Thanks to this thread I skipped Version 7C77v1A. But I can not tell for sure if my motherboard would have been bricked by this version.

Flashed using MCI Center or via M-Flash?

Bonjour,

This forum is English only. I can already see that you get the CPU and DRAM LEDs, and it didn't seem to happen after a BIOS update, so your problem is not related to the problem in this thread at all. Please make a new thread about it in English and include a list of all your hardware (exact models, and not forgetting PSU).

Today I flashed my Z490a-pro motherboard with a new 7C75v2D bios, everything went fine, apparently something was fixed in the firmware.

MPG Z490M Gaming Edge Wifi
BIOS: 7C76v2B
Country: Malaysia
Result: Bricked after update, then after returning from RMA (Dec 2020), it works fine for a few months. Last month I upgrade it from 2x8GB to 4x16GB, it starts to have issue where it stuck at EZ Debug LED "CPU". Sometimes it can boot up after I clear cmos but most of the time it is stucked.

New BIOS 7C76v2C has been released, I don't really dare to flash it. Hope to see anyone here tested it.

This is just an assumption, since the previous bios caused my motherboard to crash, and this one got up without any problems.
But are you sure you have the same motherboard with the same serial number all the time? Because, as after the previous failure, you sent to the site, you could have got another one.

After an unsuccessful bios firmware, I received my own board back from the service, since repairs were made, and not a replacement of the board, the board number did not change.

Hi Sergeant
Thank you for the heads up but as I was reading through I thought to myself I had no issues, then I read that my model being Z490i unify did not show the issues most othe Z490 MBs did. Yes, its a relief.
