Hey, so as it has been impossible for me to get in contact with MSI support team I’m just gonna post this here hoping I get a food answer.

I’m about to buy an MSI 4080 Gaming X Trio on Amazon.com, thing is I’m from Chile so I’d love to know how does the warranty work, for example, what if the card stops working 8 months after the purchase? Thnx in advance.

Hi
Products must be sent back to the country they were purchased from. So amazon.com I assume is the US, so that's where you'd have to send the product in case it's faulty for warranty.
Only notebooks tend to come with first year of warranty being global.

So you’re saying the GPU won’t have warranty if I get it on Amazon? and yeah, it’s Amazon US

It'll have a warranty, you'd just have to contact and return it to the MSI USA center, rather than somewhere native to chile.
ie if it breaks, you'd need to send it to the MSI HQ in California, and probably deal with MSI USA support in order to get support for it.

And obviously shipping, and insurance, to MSI HQ would most likely be on you to pay for, if something was wrong with it.

Ah got it, so I’ll have to deal directly with MSI US instead of Amazon for warranty terms whether it breaks 1 or 9 months after purchase, am I right

OK so they classing it as a Gray Import not imported by an Authorised MSI Dealer in Chilly and Gray imports imported by non-Authorized dealers have no Warranty at all

Well I guess I’m just gonna stick to my local overpriced stores as warranty seems to be a real issue, doubt I’ll need it but in case I do, I want to have it lmao and dunno what you mean by non-Authorized dealers cause it’s the official MSI Store on Amazon :p

Yes perhaps but are they an Authorised importer for your Country or is that held by another Company

Look here for a list of Authorised Sellers in your Region
