Webcam light blinking

I'm using a Modern 14 B11MO-094IN Laptop. When I turn on my camera during a zoom video meeting or any other camera app, it keeps blinking. It's very irritating for me when I'm taking classes. How do I turn off the blinking of webcam light. or atleast make it stable ( means light turns on permanently and not blink)?
PS: If there's no such option , how do we convince MSI to develop driver to change the behavior.

Expected behaviour to notify user it is being used by something. Especially useful if you get a virus.
Just cover the light with tape or something..

They could've given a stable light which does not distract you from doing your work simultaneously.

They could have done many things. You also could have done research or bought a desktop. Just cover it with tape, as no one will develop an option to disable it for < 1% of users.
Assuming it can be disabled through software, and isn't hardwired in a way that if it receives power then it flashes.

I think it's not possible to disable it, use tape to block it?

Then cover it with a tape. I mean, it's there for a reason...

Flashing lights are great for forcing attention. I created an account just to add my voice to request a software solution for a software problem.

This is an absurd issue that should be fixed as soon as possible. How the heck did this get past quality assurance? A constantly blinking webcam light during video conferences is unbearable. And a constant light gives you the same information that your webcam is being used.
Please fix this and give us an option to use a constant light as soon as possible. Better yet, make that the new standard, as a blinking webcam light is just absurd.
There have also been reports that the blinking light changes the webcam light adaptation, which is hilarious.

Taping over the indicator works, but then you don't know at all when the webcam is used.
The light should just be constantly on instead of blinking when the webcam is used, like in all other non-MSI laptops, it's very simple.

I'm contacting support and asking for a fix. I urge all others to do the same, so MSI notices it's a significant problem.

Support answered that I should check whether my BIOS is up to date, then use a USB recovery drive... oh well.
I explicitly wrote in the second sentence of my support request that this is intended design, not a bug.
I answered that I'm unsatisfied with the reply, explaining why.

There is actually a slightly newer Bios (201 -> 204, December -> February), but I doubt they changed this.
And someone else, on a different laptop, had performance problems after updating the bios, so they had to downgrade the bios again (and performance improved again).
Just FYI, you can download older bios versions by copying a download link for the new one and replacing the version number.
e.g. here: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/Raider-GE76-12UX/support?sub_product=Raider-GE76-12UGS#down-bios

I too am having the same issue with the blinking LED, however I also have very faint vertically scrolling (top to bottom) black lines in the webcam image as well. These lines do not appear in any pics taken, but are very annoying in Zoom meetings.

I cannot confirm when the issue started (such as after an update), but the LED used to be solid white and no black lines in the webcam image.

Raider Ge76 UE, Win10 20H2.

Any help would be appreciated.

You mean the images taken by the camera has black lines?
But if the pics taken don't show them, i think it has to do with Zoom?
What about other video call apps? Do the lines appear?

Pics taken do not have the lines.
The lines appear both in Zoom and the Win10 native camera app. It's almost like the webcam itself is picking some kind of interference and it's showing in the video image.

I uninstalled the integrated webcam, and I have updated the chipset drivers (MSI told me there is no dedicated driver for the webcam), but no change.

I THINK an update may have messed with the webcam, as out of the box the webcam image was fine, and the LED stayed solid white, but I cannot isolate which Windows update may have impacted the webcam.

Adding another voice requesting that the webcam light simply turns on when in use.

The blinking light, as others have stated, is distracting during video calls.

Adding another voice to this thread.

The light is really distracting, it has a noticeable effect on the video. Covering it with tape doesn't work since the light reaches the camera through the laptop.
Please make it constantly be on when in use.

Hello, please provide a firmware update for the blinking camera light. It is unbearable and causes nausea. Needs to not blink. Someone could have a seizure.
