hi all, if i have a G4 Ti4600 what will give me the

Best FPS + Best Quality Image

High Res No AA
or
Low Res AA 4X/Quininox

i mean i like the idea of high res and AA but as we all know SOF2 @ 1600X1200 with 4X AA isn't gonna run near 40 FPS is it? i was just playing Q3A @ 1600X1200 with Qunininox or 4X AA and that was around 40 FPS

Athlonix,

I would shoot for a minimum of 60FPS at all times. Try to get the highest quality picture out of the game as you can. Then you can adjust the AA setting in the drivers after you maxed out the game settings.

I usually still play in 800x600 or 1024x768 with everything maxed.

Take Care,

Richard

thanks, i was being my usual curious self :D ok narrow the question down, what will give you better quality graphics FSAA or a High Res

Athlonix,

If you mean High Resolution, that does not do much for the picture. It shrinks the Text and info areas.

If you run around 1024x768 and even 1200x900 and max all the game settings and then run Quininox, you will be very happy.

You should not suffer much of a framerate hit in most of the games out there.

Athlonix,

On my work system I am running 85Hz with onboard video on my A7N266-E at a rez of 1024x768 without problems.

Is your monitor defined. Default Monitor will lock the refresh rate at 60Hz.

Richard

There are many refresh rate fixes for XP/2000, I use one called reforce which is very easy to use.

I have a Ti4600 and prefer 1024*768-1280*1024 with 2x2AA since it looks very good.

It is really hard to tell the differance between 1600*1200 and 1024*768 when you have AA enabled.
My monitor only does 60Hz at 1600*1200 anyway so it isn't really an option.
