That's what I've seen in the Computex Flash page. MSI TV Tuner that uses Connexcant bt880 chipset and silicon-based TV tuner. This really looks good. When will this product be available? Anyone managed to "preview" it? I wonder about its quality and stereo support for PAL system. ;)

It is being soled here (and belive me this is a backwards PC market we have ;( ).
We use PAL as well so you should have no problems.

I did not yet test one of them so I can not give any first hand tips or opinions about it :(

Got it here in Canada over the weekend.

-TV reception is okay via cable
-a bit slow to start up
-the included intervideo/msi program does not seem to support MPEG4 (only MPEG1 or 2 is an option)
-Easy CD Creator and Windows Media Player reports that for MPEG1 encoding, the bit rate is 9500kb/s and ECDC doesn't want to make the VCD. WMP will play the recording.
-if I run a converter on the MPEG1 recording then ECDC will make a VCD.
-the TV guide web site doesn't recognize Canada it seems X(

Wow... it is being selling now??! I can't get any info of this TV tuner card from MSI website, am I missing something? ?(

Anyway, how much is the price? Anyone care to tell?

Here it sells for the equivilant of 86$ (US) inc tax.

I was actually looking for the ATI TV Wonder card and the salesmen at various shops hinted that it was going to be replaced and there were none available right now. So at one shop they had the MSI card and I was intrigued by the "supreme cute" remote controller :p
I payed $95CDN (about 10 cents US... no actually about $60USD).
Actually, I was intrigued by the MPEG4 encode/decode option.

Does anybody know where this card is available in the US? I've been unsuccessful at locating it...

Many thanks.

Sorry 4 a little off topic.
Just wondering why is it MSI product (like TV@anywhere) avaliable in canada earlier than the USA.
Is it right that MSI is a taiwan company?
