I have a few keys that have worn off (A, E, S and T), but I haven't been able to find anyone who sells them separately. My keyboard works fine, so I really don't want to go through the hassle of installing an entire new keyboard just for a few worn out annoying keys! I'm assuming I can pop the keys off and replace them?
I've also read that the new keyboards you see on Fleabay and other sites might be a real pain to install because you have to break apart your old board and use some of the parts and glue them? Is this true?
If I have to buy a new board, can I get one that's pretty much 'plug and play'... yank my old one out and stuff the new one in? I really don't want to 'mod' a brand new board!
I've already had the motherboard replaced 3 times under warranty. The last repair has finally (cross fingers) fixed the problem. It's been an excellent laptop ever since. The worn keys are expected I suppose, so I'm not really complaining. They are just an annoyance.
Or if anyone has an old keyboard destined for the trash can?
