I have "standard" 2017y build - msi x370 gaming pro carbon + ryzen 1700 + corsair lpx 3000. All these 5 years I was too lazy and scary to update bios - it is still v1.20.
It is both good and bad. CPU sits at 3.65GHz @ Auto 1.176v, setting voltage manually disables its idle drop. Memory is either 2667@1.28v or 2800@1.37v, cant go higher. NB voltage is below 1.0v. USB plugging in back port causes high System Interupts usage, even on clean OS, but no trouble after reboot.
Now, due to EOL of some sort, I feel adventurous. I want first to update bios to cut off cons I have, then, in the end of the year, either buy cheap Ryzen 5xxx or turn tail to Intel 13gen.
So, which bios should I pick now? I know that in some moment Ryzen 1 was dropped in bios to save firmware space, but in bios descriptions there is no note about it. Also I know that bios update cant be reverted to v1.20, so at least nothing should go worse
Thanks
