Hello

Thanks for checking my question out. I need help finding out whether a 6QF is 'better' than a 2QF. I ordered an MSI Apache Pro GE62 2QF and they sent a 6QF. I'm only concerned about getting the best performance. Oh, and does anyone know why this message has to be 350 characters to be posted?

I'll check here too

(the 6QF is absent from this site)

MSI actually has the specs for both of those on their site

2QF: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/ge62-2qf-apache-pro.html#hero-specification
and
6QF: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE62-6QF-Apache-Pro.html#hero-specification

From a hardware standpoint the 6QF is better. It comes with a newer better processor, better RAM and 1 usb type-c port.
The 2QF (which I have, and happen to be using right now) comes with, older processor, DDR3L ram, not DDR4, and has 3 usb 3.0 instead of 2 usb 3.0, and one 3.1 type-c.

6QF for some reason does not support 4k at 60hz whereas the 2QF does.

I would personally pick the 6QF, but since I bought my laptop little over a year ago, I didn't have that choice. Tech gets better way faster than my wallet can grow.... I would also be wary of temperatures, mine when I got it never made it past 80 Celsius, and now, running the same benchmark, it goes over 90 Celsius. I am sending it in to get the thermal paste reapplied. As doing it yourself will almost definitely void the warranty.

Thank you Sam, much appreciated. I'll keep an eye out for load and temperature change.
