I recently purchased 2 GT683s for me and my wife and they are fantastic so far.  Except my wifi internet is always very slow and/or losing connection.  I updated the drivers on my Intel Centrino Wireless-N 130 using the MSI live update feature to 14.0.2.2.  I tried the connection at a few other locations in my house and I always have full bars but the internet is VERY slow and or drops.  I tried the internet at a friends house and I had the same issues.  My wife's latop (exact same model) has no issues whatsoever (fast internet, no drops).  The wired internet works fine, it's just he wireless. I just submitted a support ticket to MSI but I thought I would check here for any help/suggestions while I wait.

I would like to know if you had this issue resolved. If yes, what did you do to resolve it? I have a GT683R with the same problem also. I just got off the phone with Mitch from MSI tech support. He sent me a RMA# and suggested that I send in my laptop to the MSI tech's. I rather not have to send it in if I can resolve the issue myself. I cant afford to be without my beloved laptop for 2 weeks! LOL. Anyway, Best of luck to you and please let me know how you resolved your WiFi issue. Thanks :)

After much trial and error, I believe that I may have permanently resolved this WiFi issue on my GT683R. I did some deeper digging and discovered that the Intel wireless N adapter that is installed in our laptop does NOT like AES+TKIP 300mbs settings in most wireless N routers. To confirm this resolution I went in to my Netgear Wireless N router settings and changed my security settings from AES+TKIP @ 300mbs to AES @145mbs (only) security mode. I also dumbed down the wireless N speed from 300mbs to 145mbs. This has proven to resolve the issue. Go figure! Hopefully, either Intel or MSI will correct this problem in a future driver update or patch.

As a final confirmation of my findings I will make another post on this matter in a few days. I now have to take my laptop with me to work and test the Laptop WiFi to office wireless router connectivity. I will keep you posted. Hope this helps you out.

PS I typed this post from my GT683R with WiFi turned on and ethernet wire disconnected, for the first time in weeks! (look! No wire, Ma!) :emot-tip-wink:
