WinCoder software trouble

I'm having trouble getting WinCoder record. The video comes up on the screen and when I record and then stop and name the file it is empty and nothing is there. The counter does not function either when it is recording so for some reason WinCoder is not recording. I've installed updated drivers and still the same. Called Intervideo and they were no help. I'm running Windows 98 SE and using MSI G2TiVX Pro-VT video card. The WinCoder software came with the video card. Getting help with this has been very difficult so any help would be much appreciated!!!

Did you install WinProducer too? You need to have both installed.

Yep Richard I have them both installed. I went to the web site and downloaded an updated version on WinCoder as they suguested at Intervideo and still the same problem.

James,

When I was using 98, updating the drivers caused the same problem.

Try older version of drivers (there is one indicated for VIA chipsets, if it's your case). With me, the drivers in CD works well.

Tried it with new and old drivers and still no luck. I didn't know this could be so difficult. I can't seem to find anyone who would know what would be wrong. Thanks for your advice though. Hopefully someone will know.

If your capture drivers are working, it helps. If you can't get video with it, then you can focus on the drivers.

Good luck.

I updated the capture driver and still not working. I see the video that I want to record in the caputre screen of WinCoder but when I press record in it does not record. The Video shows but it is not recording. What next???
