Windows 11 Question (TPM? -> External TPM Module = Not Mandatory)

fTPM and PTT are the same. AMD calls it fTPM for firmware TPM, Intel came up with PTT for Platform Trust Technology, but it's also an fTPM.

On Intel, you have the choice between PTT (fTPM) or dTPM / discrete TPM, which means an external TPM module. Obviously you would select PTT, so you don't need any extra module.

Awesome thanks and if I do a BIOS update at some point with PTT enabled will it give me troubles, or will it just update seamlessly?

It shouldn't give you any trouble. The only thing is, on all MSI BIOS updates i've seen so far (and that's a lot), things like Security Device Support and Secure Boot were on disabled by default. But it's a matter of enabling it again after the update, before booting Windows, and you're good.

Thats great thanks, I am new to MSI and I really like the boards and the BIOS interface. I have a 11900K on the MEG and its been really good, I flashed the latest BIOS earlier without any problems and this forum seems packed with a wealth of information.

That system won't be compatible with Windows 11 as it currently stands.

I have a MEG Z590 ACE and I was unsure whether to enable fTPM or PTT for Windows 11? (I have secure boot enabled)

for Intel its PTT to activate its FTPM Function on your CPU.

There is a good chance for HM170/HM175 and 7700HQ (Intel 7th generation mobile) to be accepted by Microsoft for Win 11.

I guess you're right I could activate TPM 2.0 running advanced bios settings but I cannot see it activated when I run tpm.msc...so sad I guess this laptop will never run windows 11. Thx dude!

I don't think they will accept the 6th generation.
But I bet there will be a "patch" for that CPU.
Just be patient.

Asus comes soon with a bios update with the Secureboot and TPM2.0 enabled, i have read it about Asus bios'es only ,it should be nice that MSI comes with such a Bios update to make
it more easy after every bios update, without enabling the secureboot and TPM2.0 every time, it's not much work but .............

Disabling it makes the stutters go away. There's a video posted by user meemz on linus forum, this is exactly what is happening to my setup. This board may require a new bios update to fix these stutterings.

At the moment Microsoft have no plans to support first gen 1000 series AMD GPU as they do not meet there standards
