Hi,

After installing the latest update for MSI Center M my Claw 8 AI+ is now always in "best performance" power mode (Windows power & battery settings) after starting the PC. Before the update the current mode was left unchanged. Why has this changed? I can't find any setting to change this unwanted behavior.

Ie, if I set power mode to "balanced" and restart, it will now always change to "best performance". At least the plugged in option, which I often use.

In performance mode, the fans are much louder etc.

Bug or just an undocumented change? Please fix or change it back.

What I would love to see is a simple switch for this power mode, for example in MSI quick settings.

I also checked the latest version of MSI Center M and found that Windows Power Mode will only switch to Best Performance when the User Scenario is set to Manual mode.
You can also customize the fan curve under Manual mode. This allows you to fine-tune the balance between performance and noise, which may provide a better gaming experience while keeping the system quieter.
Refer to the software manual if you don't know where to adjust the fan curve.

I've used manual mode in MSI Center M since day 1 (March 2025).
I'm manually switching to best performance mode when gaming, and I prefer balanced mode when not gaming. Since the last Center M update I have to switch every time I start the device. Please change this behavior back or add an option to disable it! (or fix it if it's a unintended bug)

This is a weird change, the changes to windows power mode is tied to the Manual profile. I dont need it to automatically change it. So what if in manual mode i used 10W for PL1? Do i need best performance mode when i want to saves more battery power? This is an annoying changes that made no sense. Just create a 4th power profile in center M for those that wants it to be at its maximum.

Yeah, the change is unwanted and also doesn't make sense. It made my Claw 8 worse.

Instead, add a simple power mode switch to the MSI quick settings.

I just wanted to report that the latest MSI Center M 2.0.2605.1501 update does not save the RGB setting when turned OFF on the MSI Claw 8.

After every reboot, the RGB turns back on even if it was disabled before.

For now, I’ve reverted to the previous version, where the setting is saved correctly.

Hopefully this can be fixed in a future update.
