World of Warcraft is a game that has been around for a little over 10 years (since 2004, November to be exact). The game has a total of 11 million subscribers and a loyal fan and community base. One may think that in order to play this game at a consistent over 60fps that it would require an older computer. They would be mistaken. The game is highly CPU optimized and challenges even the most modern of computers today.

This device, the MSi GT80 seems to run WoW on ultra settings without fail at roughly 85 - 100 frames per second (FPS). On my former machine (a Dell XPS 8700 combined with MSi ATi radeon R7950 graphics), I typically got around 65 - 80 fps on ultra settings. I decided to make a 15 minute PvP (Player vs Player) video illustrating the graphical prowess and gameplay on this machine:

The video can be seen here:

In the video, I'm playing an RPG-based class known as a Shaman that specializes in melee combat. In the game, this classification of Shaman are referred to as Enhancement Shaman. My goal is to provide a winning edge to my team by counter-attacking enemy waves of attacks. I play on the faction known as the Horde and our enemies are the Alliance. If you are familiar with WoW lore, you should know all about the rivalry and the lore between the two factions.

World of Warcraft is comprised of numerous expansions, including but not limited to Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, and last but not least, Warlords of Draenor. The Burning Legion which is the sequel to Warlord's of Draenor was recently announced at a press conference in Germany. Many Blizzard fanatics are looking forward to it.

With each new expansion and iteration, there have been some new graphical implementations. This device definitely shows extremely amazing prowess in the newest zones of Warlords of Draenor. As aforementioned, one could expect framerates of around 85 - 100 in the newer zones and over 100 fps on ultra settings in the older zones prior to Warlords of Draenor.

I look forward to the burning legion expansion. Blizzard Corp, based in Irvine, CA, will most likely take the necessary steps to make the game DX12 compatible which should further improve gameplay on Windows 10 based machines.
