I have a msi b450 mortar max mb with a ryzen 5 2600 16gb of corsair vengeance
Zotac gtx 770 4gb
128gb m2 ssd
120 sata ssd
2x 3tb wd green
Cooler master 850w gold psu

The other day I tryed to boot and this was displayed
Small green text overlapping filling half the screen on the left
.
I unplugged it for an hour or so then tried it with and old vga monitor and it worked as normal with hdmi as well

What could be the cause.
The mb cpu and ram are 6 month old

GPU Glitch May have failed to load correct resolution or refresh rate was to high for the Monitor. Or you monitor is on the way out

I thought it might be gfx so swapped out with r9 390x. When that did not work I disconnected all drives and usb device's.
I was gonna take it to a pc repair shop then I tried again with the 770 and a proper monitor and it worked. i think it will happen again do you think the bios may be to blame

Doesn't hurt to update to the latest BIOS. But this doesn't look like a BIOS bug. Seems to have more to do with the graphics.

When i tried a different display it worked after that with gtx 770 with the 1st monitor but the post takes a little longer
I have seen it before when I stuffed up the refresh rate I set it to high one day and that was the result it took going in to windows safe mode setting the refresh rate back to normal to fix

I don't mess with refresh rates just the resolution also I have been thinking about getting a gpu brace stand with a magnet in the bottom but my hdds are under it will the neodymium magnet effect them
The msi r9 390x has a chunky heatsink and saggs quite abit
