Hey, everyone. I got a problem with my Gaming Edge motherboard.

The Problem is my SATA SSD doesn't work properly with this motherboard. I can see the drive in the BIOS but its files are inaccessible in the OS (Win 10). Also, it causes Explorer.exe to crash. I have an NVMe SSD in my M2_1 Slot, maybe the board can't work 2 NVMe drives at once? Does use this board with two NVMe SSD at once? The M.2 SATA is Hynix hfs256g39tnd, it works as expected with my old B150 Gaming B3.

Here are my specs:
X570 gaming edge wifi 7C37v12
AMD Ryzen 3700x
MSI GTX 1080 AERO OC
Corsair HX1200
KXG50ZNV256G NVMe TOSHIBA
WDC WD40EFRX-68WT0N0
ST1000DM003-9YN162
ST1000DM003-1SB102

SATA is not NVMe.
What BIOS version do you have?

M.2_1 is PCI-E only
M.2_2 is PCI-E or SATA so only one of them can be used the one in M.2_1 will be causing issues as you have SAT pins connected to PCI-E Lanes

Are you saying that both slots must have NVMe M.2 SSD or NVMe M.2 SATA SSD both slots?

NVMe M2 SATA SSD.
It is either NVMe or SATA, there is no SATA NVMe.

I already have the BIOS version written on the topic.
Yeah and it is well hidden between sans-serif/ and [/font]

You can try the latest beta version

Sorry for that sans serif stuff. This is my drive: https://www.amazon.com/SK-hynix-SC308-256GB-HFS256G39TND-N210A/dp/B071RY6SCX It says M2 SATA SSD, it worked with my old M2 key slot B150 Gaming 3 I will try that Beta BIOS to see if that really works.
does the drive have an OS on the HFS256G39TND-N210A SATA SSD as well as your KXG50ZNV256G? if so one of them needs the OS removed as then they are conflicting with each other if you have 2 OS's on the 2 separate drives!

Since when is that, what we have boot order for?
I have 2 bootable drives and never had no conflict, whichever i select as boot drive is the OS drive C: and the other is just another drive in the system.
And how can you remove the OS from a drive if you cannot boot from another one?

Hello,
Of course, there is none conflict/limit between the 2 M2 slots! Furthermore, M2_1 is managed directly by the CPU and M2_2 through the X570 and none share lanes with SATA ports.
1/ Unplug the Toshiba (M2_)NVMe. Plug the Hynix M2_SATA in the M2_2 slot. Do a clear CMOS:
- Power off PSU, unplug the power cord and wait that all mobo's leds light off.
- Either
   . short JBAT1 during at least 20s
(if you have not a jumper cap, use something like a screwdriver but be cautious to touch only the 2 pins of JBAT1) or
. remove the battery cell during 15mn.
- Plug the power cord and power on.
Choose to enter in bios setup when asked. Click on "SETTINGS Advanced Secure Erase+" and confirm (that will fully erase the Hynix drive so all current data will be definitively lost).
2/ Plug the Toshiba NVMe in M2_1. Do again a clear CMOS. When asked, choose to enter in bios setup and set "SETTINGS Advanced Windows OS Configuration BIOS UEFI/CSM Mode" to "UEFI" (change nothing slse at this time).

3/ Start Windows 10 and open Disk Manager. You would have a message about a new disk found. Agree and initialize it as GPT. After that create a partition and set a drive letter.
Result?
Hoping it shall help,
:emot-tip-wink:

HFS256G39TND-N210A is empty. I don't have anything on it. I was using it for game stuff on my old B150 Gaming motherboard. So, no OS.

I have upgraded the chipset driver, released by AMD (MSI site doesn't have the latest version).

With that upgrade, my problem is solved. Everything works as expected for now. Thanks for your help.
