Hello, I recently bought this MB and built up a new build with a 5900x, 3070, and a Phantek P500A case. I am having an issue with the rear mic jack. On my old case I had a front mic jack that I could use. Not on this case so I have my headphones and mic plugged into the I/O on the back. Every time I turn off the PC the mic jack stops working. To get it to work I have to unplug it then plug it back in when the PC is on. I tried uninstalling the audio drivers and reinstalling the latest ones. I tried a clean removal with DDU of the Realtek audio drivers also. I am using the latest audio and chipset drivers from the MSI site. I even tried the latest chipset drivers from AMD site. Anyone else have this issue or know of something I can try to do to fix it. Really annoying to have to plug and unplug the mic on every boot.

Are you the using the microphone on the headset?
In Microphone Setting, try to enable Allow apps to access your microphone.
Go to Control Panel, Sound and enable headset microphone as default device.

Its setup as default device. It is a stand alone mic so not part of a headset. I am baffled by this issue.

Have you went into the Realtek Audio program and physically messed with any of the settings? Sometimes you have to use the Realtek program/app to manually tell it what each jack does and what they're for. Once set in Realtek program/app, then settings in Windows Control Panel sounds settings should also take.

Thank You. I had checked that app and thought I set it all up. I guess I hadnt clicked the red check to make the rear one the default.

Oof. I reinstalled windows and now the Realtek Audio manager is gone. I installed the latest driver but its still not showing that program. Realteks site is doo doo and only shows stuff for Win7. What am I missing here to get that program?
